Slide film can be quite difficult, as its exposure latitude is far narrower than the forgiveness seen in negative film. Holding highlights AND pulling out shadows can be a pain, but regardless of the challenges slide film is incredibly fun and rewarding to shoot! I tend to rely on an external meter for shooting slides, using it to get the incident light falling on a scene. If your using a reflected or spot meter, make sure you sample from both extremes of your scene and balance it out to find the best exposure.
These are a few shots from a couple months back taken with the ‘Texas Leica’ - the Fuji GW690 III on Velvia 50.
E-6 is a development process that can be a pain for small labs like us to handle, as the chemicals involved don’t tend to keep well. If you’ve got E-6 film you’d like us to develop, you won’t find it on our order sheet, but feel free to get in touch and we can fill you in on available room / timelines! @ Elbow Falls Kananaskis
