For as long as I can remember I've loved looking up at the stars. ...I know, super original 🙄😅, but it's true! And the one who instilled that love in me was my Dad.

My earliest memories of stargazing are with him. When I was little it was looking out the window in my bedroom after reading bedtime stories, far past when I should have been asleep. And at grandma and grandpa's house, sitting out on the dock talking. As I got older it became long drives out of the city to see eclipses and sitting out amongst the stars at a campfire listening to that one U.S. AM radio station that you could only tune into at night.

And anytime dad wasn't there to see them, if I had access to a camera, I'd try to take a picture so I could show him.
..It never worked, but I kept trying.

I've been thinking a lot about my dad lately. I miss him. But when I look up at the stars it's like a little piece of him is still here.

These may not be the best astro photos out there. I'm still learning and will need a few new pieces of equipment if I really want to step up my game. But for now, I'm pretty proud of these! And I can't help but think that my dad would've thought they were pretty cool 😎

While editing this photo I couldn't help but wonder... is it still called street photography if it's on a boat? 🤔

2022/08/02 - My friend said that it would be a nicer photo without the chains obstructing the view, but I kinda love them. Just adds a little bit more 🤌🏻 ya know.
