Thunder Boy Studios | Teotihuacan

The Temples of the Sun and Moon rise side by side at Teotihuacan — but here’s the trick: your eyes are deceived.

From this vantage point, the Temple of the Moon (in the distance) looks nearly the same size as the Temple of the Sun. In truth, the Moon is far smaller — but perspective, distance, and alignment transform it into a perfect visual illusion.

The Teotihuacan people mastered scale and sightlines so well that, even thousands of years later, their architecture continues to inspire. From certain angles, the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Moon appear the same size—just as the Sun and Moon do when we look to the sky, or witness an eclipse.

Chapultepec Park, Mexico City

While walking through the park near the Monumento a los Niños Héroes, I noticed a group of runners— trying to take a group photo with their phones. I was taking pictures of the monument anyway, and so I offered to take their picture.

They happily accepted, and we made it quick.

With this image, I've realized that a camera is a multi-tool: it takes pictures and it builds bridges.
