This is heartbreaking. And its happening all over the world - which is precisely why we search downtown Calgary during migration seasons for survivors to take to Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, and to document the strikes in Fatal Light Awareness Program Canada 's Global Bird Collision Mapper.

Its also why we started selling Feather Friendly Bird Collision Deterrent Markers - its an easy way for everyone to prevent unnecessary bird deaths at home. If you haven't made your windows bird safe yet, please consider doing so and keep your blinds closed and outside lights off after dark!

World Wildlife Day is a United Nations International day to celebrate all the wild animals around the globe and the contributions that they make to our lives.
In Alberta, we are fortunate to share our spaces with hundreds of different species of wildlife. To celebrate their beauty and contributions to the ecosystem, dust off your cameras and get to snapping!

What do y'all use for watermarking photos?
We have been using lightroom and its a very burdensome process to adjust the positioning for each photo!

Sorry you have to see this - but there are anglers out there who need to. Especially on World Wildlife Day.

Discarded fishing line isn’t just a bit of plastic left behind; it’s a deadly trap that can remain set for decades. Leave no trace. Cut your line into short pieces and dispose of it properly.

We’ve been picking up any stray line we come across for years now - anyone else do the same? Most of our followers are strongly conservation-minded, I bet most of you would cleanup any line encountered! Some of you might be interested in the Facebook group Project: Pick up fishing line, a community focused on encouraging cleanup efforts and educating others about the impacts of abandoned line.
