I remember when I was a kid, rolling down a grassy hill was one of the most fun things in the world. For some reason, spinning completely out of control was something I wanted to do. 😂
I’d reach the bottom of the hill with my belly sore from laughing, my hair full of grass, and immediately run back up to do it all over again.
As adults, though, life has a funny way of making “spinning out of control” feel a whole lot scarier.
We have responsibilities. Bills. Decisions. Expectations. Plans that don’t always go according to plan. And when life starts tumbling downhill, it’s easy to forget that maybe… we’re not actually falling apart. Maybe we’re just on the ride.
There will be times when you’re standing at the top of the hill, looking out and feeling like you have everything figured out. There will be times when you’re at the bottom, wondering how you’re ever going to get back up. And there will absolutely be moments in between where everything feels messy, chaotic, and completely out of your control.
But somehow, we always make it to the bottom.
We pick the grass out of our hair. We catch our breath. We learn something from the tumble. And eventually, we find ourselves climbing that hill again.
So if life feels a little out of control right now, maybe you don’t have to fight the ride quite so hard.
Hold on. Laugh when you can. Cry when you need to. Find the little moments of joy along the way.
Because sometimes the best thing you can do when you're tumbling down the hill is remember that this is still your life, and you’re allowed to enjoy the ride. ❤️
