What is there to say when the look on their faces says it all? I'm truly asking because I don't have words for how incredible it was to photograph this couple and celebrate them after years of watching their love grow the deepest roots. Will 2026 be the year I get back into posting regularly?
Will it be rooted in sharing my work, rather than the worry of deciding how to share?

Deciding to let pieces of my heart, shift from tucking themselves into the safest and coziest parts of myself is something I'm rediscovering and shining my light on because navigating things as an ever-growing and changing human is so strange. I ache for versions of myself that shared in curiosity, in love and in connection but it isn't always as easy as that.

So for now here are photos from an incredible engagement with some sweet friends, who trusted me despite weather and conditions, to create the room and space they were so deserving of when settling into the realization that they're only deepening their sense of self, together.

I guess I want to remind couples, newly engaged or not, that I'm always reminding and supporting then to show up as they are, not as they think I think they should be. So letting this serve as a reminder to myself to also show up as I am, not as they think I should be, because that's where the magic of connection lives. In the human-ness of it all. Secondary reminder that I'm here for the people *and they're here for me* not just the pictures.

The two of them couldn’t stop laughing, and I just remember leaving this session wondering how the world aligns such great people with me which is how I felt leaving my elopement yesterday.

This session started when he began taking his jacket off only for Carley to hault up and give him that look— the one that said "oh my god, only you” and then it never really stopped until he finally relented and removed his knife from his pocket.

That’s the stuff I live for. A fraction of a moment, the real moments, the showing up in front of me knowing you're going to be seen beyond what you show up carrying, experiences or pocket knives alike. The deep-belly laughs. The way you two exist together when no one’s watching—except, well, I am… but like, not in a creeper from the bush way. But in like a, how weren't you a friend of ours beforehand kind of way.

You don’t need a big milestone to book a session, although I'm booking only 2 more spots this October since I am deep into what editing through my que looks like. Maybe you just want to freeze this version of your love. The right-now kind. The soft, sweet, silly, no-one-else-gets-it kind. The honest+ magic moments that were always yours to begin with.

Tomorrow's celebration kicks off the weeks in my year which have me shooting the most- and to start it with Paige and Keaton is going to be a dream. So my car is packed with all things wedding, all things for my 10 day camping trip in north Saskatchewan, and I'm enjoying the drive to Edmonton tonight with an iced cherry chai (newest obsessy).

With shooting more frequently coming up in my schedule, I'm looking to round out my fall with any sweeties looking for engagement or couples photos– or intimate celebrations. Since I'm doing things differently for myself than years past, scheduling anything now ensures I'll be devoting time and space to you, and myself, to make sure you get the best of me now that I'm back at er.

Because here's the thing, I'm a way better person, photographer, friend, sister and daughter when I take care of myself. I create my best work when I feel trusted, and I can only trust myself if I know I'm not burning the candle at both ends.

So cheers to more sleeps outside, more fishing, more slowness, more campfires and more celebrations to come!

Turns out it was only 20 years ago yesterday, Canada made its own history by legalizing same-sex marriage—the first country outside Europe to do so if you can believe that s**t. Today, we’re still witnessing the quiet, radical beauty of that legacy I'm so proud to celebrate.

This moment? It’s not just a celebration of love. It’s a reminder that love—q***r love, tender love, chosen love—deserves to be seen, held, and remembered with intention. And that they are here the same way they always have been, just given the space only q***r love can exist in.

Not every love story looks the same, and that’s the magic of finding your person. So know that when you're telling me there wasn't a specific day you remember loving them, but that they felt just like home– I'll know the warm feeling of that in my q***r little bones.

Photographing these two, from Australia > Vancouver > Canmore, and all q***r love I'm blessed to document, was more than just capturing them as it was documenting a piece of a larger story—one where every kind of love gets to show up fully.

If you’re planning your day—big or small, loud or soft, a little gay or a lot gay—and want that love honoured exactly as it is, I’d love to be the one there with you.

Celebrating in the way that feels best to you, while simply being so fkn committed to having you feel as incredible as you'll look is what lines the list as what's most important to me when spending the day together.

When you are able to show up as yourself, it gives me permission to do the same– and connecting on that human level is what keeps me grounded into loving this passion over ten years into this. However you want to feel, and your day to feel is what grounds me into this.

So when I want to throw my own hands up at life (a little more middle finger vs ring fingers like Kels + Brae), thank you for still showing up for me, welcoming me and supporting the thing that is soOOoo near and dear to me.

Please 2025, I am so ready for more celebrating, more connection, more wild parties, so much more fun and all the love I can't wait to fit into this lil heart of mine.

Unfiltered joy. Your favorite humans there welcoming you, and the kind of love that makes the whole *room* feel like it's quite literally glowing from being there with you.

The best fking part? You can have a whole day that actually feels like home — because it is with them.

It wasn't just an incredible party and celebration, it was a promise that you don't have to compromise a single damn thing. Not the vibes. Not the venue. Not the vision. And definitely not the feeling of all the magic you deserve.

Emily + Ryan's elopement from the archives of 2022 on the coldest day of the year when in reality it could have been from the last cold snap we just had. I still dream of this day and everything it meant to them, and what it meant to me. Every celebration is an absolute treasure to me *truly my heart 11 years into this can hardly handle it* but something about joining only their siblings to witness the frost nipping at them while their vows found mountain tops will live in my bones forever.

Today I filled my last available September and August 2025 wedding dates(!!!) But how is this engagement session from this past September already?? As much as I loved every moment from this evening creating with Paige + Keaton, their July wedding can't come soon enough.

So many more yummy, creative, fresh aired, laid back, no take backs, slow moment kinda love to share from this session but know that I couldn't wait to share since all I'm doing these past cold days is dreaming about running right back here to this night with them.
