Thanks for doing life with me and keeping us grounded, loved, and safe, always.

I haven’t created for myself in a long time. I’ve been quietly shooting commercial projects steadily (and gratefully 🙏🏽) and hadn’t made space for my own work.

I finally heard that quiet voice inside calling me back to pure creation, and in a world that’s moving so fast, I felt the pull to create differently. This summer, I purchased an old (but beautiful) medium format film camera that’s teaching me to slow down again.

There’s something magical about having 10 frames per roll (and 💸 IYKYK 😅). Each click becomes precious, intentional. No instant previews, no rapid fire shots. Just me, present in each moment.

It’s also humbling. And maybe that’s exactly what I needed - to strip the digital chaos and rediscover why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

This is the beginning of my analog journey (still shooting digital for work, don’t worry). It feels good to share work here on this platform again, to reconnect with this space that once brought so much inspiration.

A big happy birthday to our person, . 🎂We are so thankful for your love and presence. You teach us everyday to be patient, to see the light in people, and to love big. Thank you for always meeting us where we are, caring so delicately for us, and being the steadiness we all need. I’m so grateful that we get to do life together, and it just keeps getting better and better. Wishing you another year full of love, growth, and adventure. 🫶🏽🤍

I haven’t created for myself in a long time and I’m currently feeling the pull to put together some heartwork throughout the summer and to push myself creatively.

In the meantime, why has it taken me years to post these ? This project and this joy deserves to be seen. ✨ And the talented MADE this dress! And both trusted me to stop on the side of a one way downtown so I could bring a vision to life that I had to shoot it in front of a very random gate downtown. A project with a full women of colour team. The dream. 🤍

Today is .apparel 50% off sale, an opportunity to support a Calgary woman owned brand that is made in Canada. The past two years have been so tough on small brands that are truly catalysts for creativity, sustainability, inspiration, local spending, job opportunities, and so much more in our communities. They need our support.

As someone who has worked for the brand for 2 years I can honestly say, in the sliver of behind the scenes I get the privilege of seeing, you’re supporting , someone who is incredibly humble, passionate, thoughtful, giving, trusting, intentional and truly a force in this space.

You’ll find teaching on sustainability and providing the candid realities of the fashion industry in her stories, asking me if I’ve eaten anything or if I need to pump at a shoot, ordering food/drink for the kids, telling everyone to go home in what they’re wearing on set, and eagerly asking if there’s anything she can do to help; whether it’s raising awareness donating to marginalized communities, or surprising customers with gifts in their orders. She’s a special one you guys.

All in all, she’s making the fashion industry a better place with .apparel. And you can’t go wrong by supporting this locally owned brand. As X would say, it changed her life. 😆
