Happy National Dog Photography Day!

I’m Aubri, a Calgary dog photographer who believes every dog deserves a moment in the spotlight. This Calgary dog contest is my way of celebrating the dogs who make our lives infinitely better, while raising money for Calgary Humane Society dogs still waiting for their people.

Sure, your dog already runs your camera roll, your bank account, and probably your household too.

But have they ever starred on a beer can? What about limited edition brew from Four Dogs Brewing Company ? I didn’t think so.

Sometimes it’s not the beautiful sunsets, the bright colourful backgrounds or dare I say mountains appearing in the background.

It’s lazy a Sunday morning, simple lighting and dog that you share mutual adoration with a large side of obsession with… and some high value treats from MIMI & SOSO to bribe them with. Stanley calls it brunch.

Black and white photography is not my forte, but black dog on black background makes b&w sense.

Happy I hope you take this day to cut the clutter in your Sunday.

7/7 I had no clue our journey together would come to an end this day. I knew you were slowing down, we’d been to the vets more often, but I still thought we had so much time… until we didn’t.

I have so many regrets for that day, I wish I hadn’t gone out, that I had hugged and kissed you more, that we didn’t do the dental operation in May…

You were my rock through my 30’s, you got me through so much with such grace, well as much grace as a boxer could have.

I miss you my dear Röxie roller, I know you’re always walking by my side with your lil sis Rilëy.

What’s brewing you ask?
