Kids are sometimes the hardest part of a photo session. I know that and I see that!

Practicing taking pictures with your kids at home or while you're out at the park can really help you out in the long run!

Practice what makes your kids produce those sweet genuine smiles that you love! Think of silly words that will make them laugh or things that capture their attention and practice those BEFORE your session. Especially if they're not used to being in front of a camera!

Lifestyle newborn sessions are so much fun! Whether you decide to have your session at home or at a location, I have some tips to help you be prepared for your session with your sweet new baby!

For a lifestyle newborn session, I always suggest a couple of different outfit options. I might not be able to get through them all but this ensures that if an accident happens (because they do, I know), you have backups ready to go! Extra outfits for mom and dad are always a good idea too!

If there are any swaddles or blankets that are special to you and your family, have those out and ready. Whether I capture your baby on the blanket or swaddled in it, those images are going to be yours to cherish forever!

My last tip for a lifestyle newborn session is to try to feed baby as close to your session time as possible. This ensures that baby is happy and ready to fall asleep for your pictures! I schedule an hour just in case you need to feed baby!

Sometimes sessions don't always go as planned. Maybe your kids don't cooperate how you thought they would, they don't stay engaged for as long or something about your location choice is off. That's OKAY! I’m FLEXIBLE!

One time, I had a baby cry non-stop for the entire 2-hour session! He just wasn't having a great day. We simply decided to call it a day and try again a few days later. And guess what? He was in the best mood that day and the images turned out BEAUTIFULLY!

Being flexible is key in making sure you enjoy your time with your family during your session. I ALWAYS have a plan b in case something happens hours or even minutes before our session that would hinder our time together. That's why it's important I get your phone number AND you fill out your Client Questionnaire so I can contact you if something changes!

And just like that it's APRIL!!

I hope you had a fabulous long weekend. Even though Christmas is by far my favorite holiday, Easter is definitely a close second. We decided to spend the long weekend at home this year. I ended up eating way too much chocolate, had so much fun watching my kids hunt for eggs (It was my youngest first egg hunt🥰), went to a market, and got creative making all sorts of Easter crafts. It was a busy fun-filled weekend.

Do you ever need the time to just b r e a t h e ?

Sometimes you just need to put the world away, set your phone down and drink some coffee, read a book, do something you love! Solitude. Peace. Calmness. And just breathe. . . It’s okay to give yourself that break, mama! I know you need it.

Every email in between that you receive has a purpose! You'll receive your contract and invoice in an email, a client experience guide, a client questionnaire, and a final info email with all the details you'll need for your session!

How do you use your photos after your photo session?

There are so many fun ways to use your images after your session. Most of the time, clients only use their images for social media purposes. While that's GREAT and I know that's how you stay connected to friends and family, there are so many fun ways to use your photos after your session!

Creating a photo album from your session is so cool! If you do sessions yearly, this can be a really fun way to keep up with your kids' growth and share them with your guests at home! It's a great way to organize images throughout the years to keep when your kids are older!

Hanging your images up in your house is also a fun way to use your photos after your session! It's a great way to decorate your home!
