I usually DON'T speak out like this. I believe in community over competition. BUT...
I'm outraged and clearly triggered!
I'm not going to let this one go because it's NOT okay. Not even close!!!
If a photographer makes you feel violated or uncomfortable, in any way, absolutely LISTEN TO YOUR GUT.
It is not okay for a bo***ir photographer to touch you, ever!
It is not okay for a bo***ir photographer to ask you for n**es beforehand!
It is not okay for a bo***ir photographer to share your personal, intimate, and n**e photos. ANYWHERE!
It is not okay for a bo***ir photographer to monetize off of your n**e images on any platform.
It is not okay to be objectified. I don't even care if they present it in a more acceptable verbiage. Ex: "You are art."
No, the f*ck you're not "art."
You're a person, with a soul, dreams, a life, a history, a personality....
Today, I'm embarrassed by the photographer's community and outraged by the lack of integrity.
Woman, man, or non-binary...
You are a person - an actual living being whose "body" carries you through this wonderful world.
Do not allow it to be violated, shared, or monetized.
If a "professional" photographer asks for anything that makes you uncomfortable, say it. Do something. Stand your ground.
Just because they have a camera does NOT mean they are in the right.
Your body. Your life. Your experiences.
If, in any way, you feel uncomfortable, violated (even by whatever they've requested), listen to your gut.
A photographer, specifically a bo***ir photographer, is there for YOU. To create a liberating experience, to instill empowerment, to ignite confidence, to remind you of your beauty and your power.
And trust me, you have power. You have power in choice.
You have one life only, and you get to decide who and what is in it.
If something whispers to your soul that it's wrong, listen!
I could go on and on, but only lets me write so much.
I love you all. Stay strong!
