We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone. We take photos to recall - with greater vibrancy - those experiences that have shaped and made us. We take photos to bridge distance and shorten time, to lend legacy to the little things and life to the forgotten. I believe in the value
of moments and capturing them. Holding on to the emotion of a second and later telling the story. Remembered, shared and cherished. I remember sitting with my great grandmother in law, she was in her late 90's at the time. She couldn't remember daily tasks like something as automatic as eating, but we went through photos for hours and she shared detail after detail with smile that forever touched my heart. She in that moment was empowered. To empower through photography. I am not sure exactly what that looks like as the journey has just begun but I am excited for the adventure that I have no doubt will serve to be a major part of the second half of my life.
