Geoff Wilkings Photography Destination wedding and editorial photographer based in the Canadian Rockies, capturing adventurous, stylish couples in love and all things beautiful. Geoff

Originally from London England, I fell in love with The Canadian Rockies so I emigrated and now live in one of the most gorgeous areas of the worlds. Despite living in Canmore for eleven years, I now live in Calgary with my wife and two little boys, Henry and Charlie. I have a story telling approach to wedding photography and I aim to create incredible photographs for awesome couples in love. Not

fixed to one location, I will travel to about anywhere in the world to cover your incredible day. I pride myself with an artistic fashion flare seeking moments where emotion, love, honesty, art and passion can be photographed. Wedding days are about capturing the organic richness of what naturally materializes between the bride and groom and their loved ones. I'm told my shots are drama, fashion and romance rolled into one. Those are the photographs I aim to take! Professional photography coverage is more than just comparing prices. Take time to look at the final product and find out exactly what is included. I dislike hidden costs very much so there won't be any financial surprises before or after your wedding day. By choice, I only photograph a select amount of weddings each year allowing me to give great customer service and sensational images. There is so much to chat about for your special day, I look forward to speaking with you soon and please don't be shy, drop me a line and say hi.

After photographing more than 1,000 weddings, there’s one thing I keep coming back to.

You can plan every detail.

You can build the perfect timeline.

You can choose an incredible location and surround yourself with people you love.

But at some point, you have to stop planning your wedding and actually live it.

Save this one. Then come back and watch it again when wedding planning starts to feel like a lot. ❤️

If nobody else had an opinion about your wedding, what would you choose?

I think that’s such an interesting question.

There is so much inspiration out there telling you what a wedding should look like, what traditions you should include, and what you’re supposed to do.

But the weddings and elopements I love seeing most are the ones where you can genuinely feel the couple in the day.

Maybe that’s an elegant celebration at the Banff Springs Hotel.

Maybe it’s an intimate wedding at Chateau Lake Louise.

Maybe it’s getting into a helicopter and disappearing into the Canadian Rockies. 🚁🏔️

Or maybe it’s something completely different.

Take inspiration from everywhere, but make the experience yours.

So I’m curious…

If you could describe how you want your wedding to FEEL in just one word, what would it be? 👇

And if you enjoy conversations about weddings from someone who has spent nearly 20 years behind the camera, follow along. There’s plenty more coming.

Worried about the weather on your wedding day? 🌧️🏔️

If you’re travelling to Banff National Park or the Canadian Rockies to get married, I completely understand why.

Rain. Smoke. Clouds. Changing forecasts.

But here’s what nearly 20 years of photographing weddings in the Rockies has taught me. You simply cannot predict what these mountains are going to give you.

Three days before I filmed this, these valleys were filled with smoke. Then the rain arrived. And when I stood here to film this? Clear air, open skies, and incredible mountain views.

Some of my favourite photographs have happened when the forecast looked far from perfect.

So if you’re planning a wedding at the Banff Springs Hotel, Chateau Lake Louise, Canmore, or somewhere else in the Canadian Rockies, don’t let the forecast take over your day.

Have a good plan, trust the people around you, and embrace whatever the mountains give you. 🏔️

Sometimes the weather you were worried about ends up being part of what makes the day so good.

Some people just bring their own sunshine. ☀️

The weather may have been a little rainy and overcast at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, but honestly, it didn’t matter. These two had so much fun together. The laughter, the way they naturally connected, and that little spark between them made everything else disappear.

We wandered along the shoreline of Lake Louise in Banff National Park, let the weather do its thing, and simply enjoyed the moment.

I love these black and white photographs because they’re not about perfect weather or perfect conditions. It’s about two people having an amazing time together. 🖤

Give me this kind of energy every single time.
