Every now and then, you hit the shutter and know you’ve captured something different.

Drew Atlas is the G.O.A.T. and this shot of him mid-set is one of those moments for me. There’s this perfect curve of light wrapping around him—like the music itself is spilling out over the crowd. Instinct, timing, and a bit of bravery to set this up...and then there you have it; magic!

That’s the cool thing about flash photography when it’s used right: it doesn’t just light a scene, it shapes it. In this case, it wrapped around the artist like a second skin, almost like the energy of the set itself.

I love those moments where light and craft meet—when the artist is lost in the music, and I’m reveling in the energy of the night, lights and sound.

They say art is subjective.

That goes out the window a tiny bit when the muse is your boss.
