I went out to the town of Redwater, about 400 km north of Calgary to take photos of the Milky Way this morning. When I left Calgary, it was snowing heavily. When I got to Redwater, it was partly cloudy and then became clear. I was lucky to capture photos of the Milky Way shining over 10 different churches.

Here is one frame of photo taken with my 16 mm fisheye lens. There is no substitute for the fisheye lens.

Lucky to capture the aurora, light at dawn (white light at the horizon near the centre of the photo), light pollution from the city of Calgary (amber light), the Milky Way, and the snow capped mountains.
