Tonight my heart is broken, sometimes rescue isn’t enough and we lose some of our amazing dogs. I take comfort in the fact that these beautiful creatures knew love in their last months, days, minutes but it still hurts. Rest in peace sweet Mercy, you were the biggest cuddle bug and the sweetest thing 💕

*from Mercy’s foster mom - RIP sweet Mercy Moo 💚 My beautiful house hippo had been losing weight and eating very little for the last couple months. Unfortunately it was discovered that she had widespread cancer throughout her body that wasn’t present on xrays only 6 months previously 😢 The loving and humane choice was to let her go. Thankfully she spent the last 6 months of her life hogging a king size bed and lounging beside the fireplace, which to her was paradise. 💚 🌈
