The next part of this incredible wedding in Portugal 🤍

The Western celebration had such a timeless, relaxed feel. An entire day to gather, celebrate, and take it all in. Kali in her white dress looked stunning, and Luke, so handsome and always looking over at his bride. It’s the kind of quiet, steady connection that speaks for itself.

After a few uncertain days, the weather showed up at just the right time, giving us the perfect setting for everything to unfold. The day felt easy in the best way... full of real moments, lots of laughter, and space to just be present. And one of the most memorable details… a wedding cake made entirely of cheese 🧀 (I'll share that in a later post).

Some moments deserve their own space—and this was one of them.

Kali in this dress, with every detail so intentionally chosen, standing in the middle of the Douro Valley… it didn’t feel real. This is one of those places you truly have to experience—the kind of beauty that photos just can’t quite hold onto. No matter how hard you try.

But as stunning as everything looked, what stood out even more was who they are.

Kali is one of the most thoughtful people I’ve ever met. The kind of person who is constantly aware of everyone around her. Even during her own ceremony, she was quietly glancing over at friends and family, making sure everyone was okay, comfortable, taken care of. It’s just who she is.

And Luke, someone I hadn’t properly met before this, immediately felt familiar. Warm, easy, welcoming. The kind of person who makes you feel like you belong without trying. We were teasing each other within minutes, which tells you everything. But beyond that, I watched him all week stepping up, taking charge behind the scenes, making things happen… and then turning around and sincerely thanking the people helping. Confident, kind, and grounded in a way that’s rare.

Together, they just make sense.
Equal parts kind, loving, adventurous, and fun.

Okay, it’s been just over a week since this incredible wedding in Portugal, and I’m still feeling everything.

There will definitely be a few posts coming because, for me, it was three full days—but for Kali and Luke, it was nearly a whole week of celebrations. Each day had its own ceremony, its own energy, its own meaning.

I don’t even know how to fully put into words how grateful I am that Kali and Luke trusted me with something so important. It’s such a huge honour to be invited into a space like that, let alone be the one capturing it all in a whole different continent!

This first post is for the Hindu ceremony. It ended up being such a wild day weather-wise—rainy, windy, everything—but right as the ceremony finished, the rain stopped and a rainbow appeared for a few minutes. Just enough time to catch a few photos. It felt kind of perfect.

I was honestly so moved by the ceremony. There was this beautiful mix of joy and meaning—music, colour, tradition, all woven together. So many symbolic moments: offerings, rituals, the joining of their families, and the two of them literally being tied together and walking forward side by side in front of everyone they love.

I definitely cried behind my camera more than once. It was one of the most powerful ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed.

Avoid slide #5 if you are allergic to 🍑. A few weeks ago during our cold snap and hoar frost days, Hannah thought it would be a great time to go out, get undressed and get some beautiful and tastefully spicey pictures done.

Hannah did not complain once about being almost naked in -20 degree weather, she is a true, very tough Canadian!

I love how these turned out. So much energy, power and confidence in each picture! We kept them classy and tasteful, with a beautiful touch of nature! .gcrowell , thank you for trusting me with these! You knocked it out of the park!

I found a bunch of muskrats eating on the ice yesterday. I thought they were little beavers at first. They are kind of cute until you notice their long, rat-like tails and huge, sharp nails.

This was my first time meeting this incredible family. We didn't have a lot of options for date and time so we had to work with a VERY bright and high sun.

As cheesy as this sounds, these guys added to the sun as they brought their own light. They were so easy to be around and be silly with. There was a lot of energy and laughter in this shoot. The love these parents had for their daughters was very obvious.

I HAD to include the last photo because this has been almost an every shoot activity lately. The awkward poses have become a must with siblings and couples and I'm here for it!
Thank you Katee (I'll have to tag you on FB) for trusting me with your family photos! Also, don't mind the cropping... we all know how annoying IG is with their cropping!
