Apparently, this study has been retracted because of some data manipulation, but for me, it doesn’t alter the validity of what’s being said. Everything we think is made up, just because we have evidence in the past of being a total f**k up (for example), doesn’t make it true. It’s likely we could find just as many, if not more, examples of when we crushed it…. If we cared to look. We get more of whatever we focus on, so when we get into these negative frames of mind, we’re going to be looking through the doom and gloom lens, and down the spiral we go.

I work with different medicines to keep my vibe sparkly and get out of my head; Acceptance practices, Gratitude practices, acknowledging people, creating fun, getting into nature, Will Ferrel movies, cold showers, funny animal videos……..

M E D I C I N E W O R K

I’ve been quiet. Spent the last 3 months causing myself an epic breakdown which shifted a whole load of stuff that wasn’t working and out of alignment. I was disconnected from why I do what I do, and I almost dropped photography all together!

***This is not a “feel sorry for me” post.***

I’ve been working on REALLY bringing myself into alignment and restoring basic integrity. Things have shifted and I feel more clear than I ever have about why I do what I do and how it serves life.

Over the last few months I’ve been working inside of a shamanic perspective and this is what I have to say about that today………..

Photography is medicine - for you and for me.

It can take courage to be seen, to really show up, to drop any pretence you have. It takes courage to drop expectations of how it’s going to go. It takes trust for both of us to relax and allow what wants to happen. Everything always works out perfectly and sometimes it can feel terrifying to let go and stand in that.

Having your photo taken, to be seen, by me and your audience, is great edge work and it has you know your worth when you’re connected to you really are. What you do is important, who you are is valuable and this (sometimes terrifying) experience of a photoshoot, gives you access to embody that, which is like rocket fuel.

You know what else is great medicine? Fun. That’s standard practice and a top priority as far as I’m concerned.

Be warned…. there are known side effects of my medicinal photoshoots; you might start to be outrageously self expressed, you might experience heightened levels of confidence, your business might sky rocket in unimaginable ways, you might experience a bunch of weird/cool magic and random bursts of psychic abilities. That last one is weirdly, quite a common side effect - if I can’t communicate telepathically to you by the end of the session something’s gone horribly wrong!

Here’s to all my weirdos, the reality alterers, the change makers, the woo woo entrepreneurs, the ones who are slightly out of step from the everyday world.

Could you imagine a world where everyone knew that they were at the source of their experience? Where no one had to live at the affect of anything or inside of some inherited reality? Where manifestation and magic were as normal and everyday as stress and “hard work” is now. Wouldn’t that be fu***ng cool?!

I know you’re all out there making a difference to open people’s eyes to other possibilities, whether it be through health care, nutrition, yoga, meditation, education, embodiment, energy work, coaching, design, fashion or corporate business.

Calling in people to play with!!!

The days are getting more and more gorgeous in Calgary and I’m looking for friends to go out with me in the evenings to play.

What does playing with kate look like?
•We go cool places and I take photos of you. We chat. We laugh. I swear.

W H A T D O Y O U W A N T
to be when you grow up?

I’ve got a list; a rally car driver, a vet, an eco warrior, the computer lady from Knight Rider, and a photographer.

I’ve had a few sports cars over the years and that was fun, but I wouldn’t want to rally for a living anymore.

I’ve been an IT technician and that was also pretty cool. I can design and hard wire a network in a flash and trouble shoot tech problems like a bad ass - but to be fair most problems I ran into were things not working because they were plugged into the wrong port 😉

I changed my mind on the whole vet thing when I found out I’d have to kill people’s pets from time to time 😬

I’ve always had a sense that I wanted to make a difference in the world though, so here I am (amongst other things) elevating the businesses of conscious entrepreneurs & spiritual gangsters with photography.

Who’s had one? Who wants one? What would you use one for?

These are the sorts of shoot where we grab some things and totally surrender to the creative flow. With two people tapped into and that creative energy, the photos are ALWAYS mind blowing!!

This shoot was for Pam who is a poet and a photographer amongst many other things. We got such a huge variety of photos for her to use in her creative endeavours, ranging from really dark and moody to bright, light and airy.
