I'm baaaaacccckkk! πŸŽ‰ So, it's been a hot minute since I've been MIA, and let me tell you, it's been a wild ride! Losing Rosie was like losing my right arm (or my favorite coffee mug, you get the idea πŸ˜‚). I thought I'd lost my mojo along with her, but it turns out, I just needed a little time to find it again. πŸ™Œ We made the big move to Langdon (aka the hamlet of dreams 🏠) and traded in our fast-paced city life for a slower pace... just kidding, I still work full-time in the city, but hey, at least the commute is scenic! πŸ˜‚ We've had our ups and downs, but we're finally settling in and finding our groove. Oh, and we adopted this adorable little troublemaker named Boone (Rotti x, represent! πŸ•) from . He's brought a whole new level of chaos and calm to our lives (it's a thing, I swear! πŸ˜‚). Anyway, if you need some pet portraits done, hit me up! The weather's warming up, and I'm itching to get back to my creative shenanigans. Studio sessions are on hold for now, but the great outdoors is calling our names! 🌳

Cats have the best way of communicating. Did you know their purrs lower your nervous systems response and naturally calms you?

Do you have a favourite breed? Let me know, we are looking to adopt.

Rosie April 13, 2016 - March 21, 2025

To say I am heart broken is an understatement. Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Rosie, my shadow, my love, my best friend and the coolest Bernese Mountain Dog out there. Just short of 9 years old she was considered to be a very senior Berner. A couple months back we started a long roller coaster of trying to find out what was going on with her. What was supposed to be a UTI that we could have cleared up turned into cancer. Besides that and her anxiety, she was a pretty healthy girl.

She was such a happy girl and had an uncanny way of welcoming people into our home. Once she accepted you, that was it, you were family and would offer up her bum for scratches. She had the strongest and pushiest nose out there. If you weren’t paying attention to her, she would aggressively nudge your elbow until you did. She loathed woodpeckers and every spring they would send her into a loop of anxiousness. She had the greatest fur. I called her my 80’s girl because after she was bathed, she wouldn’t have a curl that a lot of Berners had, she had the best crimped look.

Or home is quiet and empty. The absence of her continuously at my feet is unbearable. Waking up this morning without her has to be one of the hardest things. Although I know it was the right thing to do, I can’t help but wonder what if and was there something else we could do. I think this is a natural response to grief. It hits you hard and in waves of unfair reality. A part of me will be forever missing. I’ll leave you with a few words for my girl.

Meet Romeo and Lulu. They were the very last session I will have in this studio as we have decided to move houses. We're moving just outside of Calgary next month. I will still be offering sessions once we get settled and the next availability will be in April. I may not have the studio space I have now but I will still be able to set up in the basement as well as offer outdoor sessions as usual.

I will definitely miss this studio. It has allowed me to meet some pretty amazing people and their beloved animals. I will cherish the two years I had in this studio space. It is really bitter sweet and I am really excited for new adventures.

Once I get all sorted, I will let you know when my calendar opens up again. In the mean time, stay warm friends. Love to you all.

Meet Einar the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Did you know that Einar means Lone Wolf. Einar's Mama didn't think he would sit still long enough to get a good portrait. What do you think? Mission accomplished I would say. Thank you Einar for keeping me on my toes and reminding me anything is possible when you love what you do.

Happy Friday All! Give Einar some love.

Now that I am finding my footing after a roller coaster of a summer, I feel like my creative side is calling to me and I am finally able to share some work from this summer.

Over the next few months I will be opening some sessions up again so if you were waiting for that time, now would be a great time to get in touch. First available time would be November.

Nova was just perfect during our session, such a sweet heart. Don't you just want to cuddle. This doggo is part of the family at Show Nova some love.

I have missed my savvy cat fam! I am glad to be back. 😽

I'm just wrapping up my last couple of sessions before I start my new job on Tuesday. This is Nico. I went to visit him and his family in Cochrane for their session. Turned out being such a beautiful day and he did so well. He was definitely the star of the day.

From here on out I will be taking sessions on case by case basis only doing one session per month. I have July, August and September booked and only have October, November and December available. Can you help me book out the rest of the year?

Can you believe we are already half way through the year?

This is crazy good.
