A Gentle Goodbye – New Session Offering

On Christmas Day, while many were gathering around tables with joy, my sister was facing one of the hardest goodbyes—her sweet kitty, Thistle, was suddenly very sick. We were preparing dinner when I got the call. I dropped everything and drove straight to the emergency vet clinic, just minutes away. Thistle’s kidneys were shutting down, and she needed to be put to sleep immediately.

With only moments to spare, my boyfriend rushed over with my camera, and I was able to give my sister a final gift—priceless images of her and Thistle, held close and loved deeply in their last moments together.

Since that day, I’ve thought a lot about how many of us face similar heartbreaks without ever capturing those sacred, tender goodbyes. Our pets are family. They’re there for the quiet days, the loud days, the hard days, and everything in between. And when it’s time to let them go, it shouldn’t be without a chance to hold onto that love in a tangible way.

So today, I’m introducing a new session offering: Gentle Goodbye Sessions. These are compassionate, respectful photography sessions available for those navigating the heartbreaking journey of saying goodbye to a beloved pet—whether it’s a cat, dog, horse, or any furry soul who holds your heart.

If you ever find yourself in that moment, please know I’m here. I will gently join you, quietly capturing the love, the connection, and the goodbye.

… and soaking in the fall vibes this year as much as possible!

I think I get to enter back into the motherhood phase of my kids letting me photograph them again? Taking advantage as much as possible as I feel them slipping away into young little independent ladies faster and faster these days.

We had a family of Bambi’s spying on us this morning. Thanks for hanging with me Wheeler minis! I’ve missed ya!

One of the things I love most about my photography side gig is capturing my past families again and again. Especially when they’re friends. It’s crazy and cool to see how fast kids grow, behind the lens. Their little personalities change so much each year.

Tina gets giant prints of her kiddos from our sessions and uses them as their artwork in their home. They really are so awesome! I’ll have to go sneak some pics to share of them. I highly recommend copying her 😄😉

✨We’re having a Garage Sale! ✨

Tomorrow 9am to 12 noon, no early birds!

Lots and lots of goodies! Two beautiful had couches; vintage dresser. Loads of clothes, some new from my custom vinyl shop deeply marked down. Sports gear, skis, lots of newborn photography props, swaddles, poser buckets. I’ll even have some house plants!!
My kids have their own sections of items they’d love to sell as well.

Did a fun little session with my youngest to capture how long and wild her golden locks were before her summer haircut at Prestige in Scotch Creek.
We found a special spot on the edge of the property, over looking Shuswap Lake, incorporating a few of the flowers trying to pop through from where the forest fire tore through last summer. Purple holly hocks, blue bonnets, orange lillies and newly planted hydrangeas. The cotton candy sky during our session was deliciously breathtaking!

I don’t know about you but this weather has me confused! What a gorgeous summer day we had here in 😆
Blue skies, bright sunshine, not a breath of wind 👌🏻 feels like Summa!
The bonus is all those gorgeous colors. Wow!
