New meme just dropped
Sophie Cunningham just gave the internet its newest meme and it came straight from a WNBA game.
During the Indiana Feverโs 86-77 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Monday June 22nd, Cunningham got into a heated exchange with former Fever teammate DeWanna Bonner after Bonner and Caitlin Clark tangled up on a play. Rather than match Bonnerโs energy, Cunningham simply stood there and pointed. Silently. Relentlessly. While Bonner had to be physically restrained by her teammates.
The clip was already funny when it happened. Then the internet got hold of it and turned it into a full meme format, with people inserting the Cunningham pointing moment into every possible context. Cunningham picked up a technical foul for the incident, but addressed it calmly after the game: โItโs fine. You know, I think sometimes itโs a part of the game.โ The woman received a technical foul for pointing. The internet has decided she did nothing wrong.
