Patrick and Luigi are making the most of spring, together!
After the passing of his buddy Ringo, Patrick has been navigating a big change. We’re happy to share that he and Luigi settled in side by side with ease, something that hasn’t always come naturally for Patrick. Having spent much of his life as a jack before coming to the DSC in 2021, he’s needed thoughtful introductions and careful management with other donkeys.
Luigi, who arrived in late summer 2024 after being rescued with a PVC pipe wrapped around his leg, has taken everything in stride. His injury healed beautifully, and he’s proven to be a calm and steady companion.
The pair has headed outside to a larger paddock for the summer. The extra space will give us a chance to try to introduce other donkeys to Patrick and continue building his confidence in a herd setting.
We’re cheering these two on as they take this next step together!
