Final day of our road trip. Met some elk on the side of the road near Cadomin and then stopped at Crescent Falls once we made it back to pavement. We haven't been to Crescent Falls for a few years as it was closed for renovations last year. I must admit the changes were surprising, but, the views are now much more accessible. Could actually feel the spray from the waterfall when I was down on the lower deck. Photos taken on May 27, 2026 in central Alberta, Canada.

On the 2nd day of our road trip we headed out from Hinton to Grande Cache. It was a cloudy morning with a bit of rain. After fueling up in Grande Cache we stopped at Grande Cahe Lake and got a photo of a loon. A brighter day would have made a difference but I was happy to get the loon shot. We met a man that suggested a place to go and guaranteed wildlife shots with the possibility of caribou and/or bear. We eventually found that road (if you can call it that) and made our way down it. Didn't see anything except rabbit and a few deer. Was glad to get off that road as it was questionable and no cell service. We made our way to the Forestry Trunk Road back to highway 40 and over to Cadomin. We stopped at many provincial rest areas. Finally got a drone shot on the highway to Cadomin just as the clouds were breaking up a bit. Photos taken on May 26th, 2026 in west central Alberta.

A few more shots from May 25th, 2026 in the Hinton/Grande Cache area.

Tammy and I made a 3 day road trip to the Hinton/Grande Cache area at the start of the week. Our goal was to find some bears to photograph. After 1750 km traveled and 3.1 million dollars spent on fuel, we saw one lone black bear. At least I think it was a bear. It was so far away and ran across the highway so quickly, it could have maybe even been a large raven. We'll say it was a bear. These shots were taken on May 25th, 2026.

Tammy and I went on a trip to scout out a location for a photoshoot happening in June. On the way home, we stopped to take some aerial shots of the Ascension of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church. Taken on May 9th, 2026 in Central Alberta.

After flying the drone yesterday we happened on 3 or 4 of these White-Faced Ibis just outside of Camrose. They weren't very big so I'm thinking they were young ones. Taken on May 5th, 2026 in Camrose, Alberta

It is a bit of a windy day in Camrose, Alberta today. I wandered over to the pond near our house and noticed that a couple of Horned Grebes are back again this year, and as usual, the Red Winged Black birds. Taken on May 3rd, 2026.

Tammy and I went for a drive on the backroads this evening...it's been a while. I flew the drone a bit, we saw several hawks and a ton of geese, like a ton. Ended up back in Camrose to get some aerial shots of Mirror Lake.
