My sole bird photograph taken in Europe is of a Western Jackdaw, captured outside Amsterdam airport in the Netherlands during our layover en route to Johannesburg.

Although this species is quite common, it did not linger for long, and I was only able to take a single picture. I had forgotten about the photo until recently.

During our layover, we also observed many House Sparrows and European Starlings, but I've seen those species often back home. The Jackdaw was an exciting sighting for me.
