ad | The film camera you don’t have to drop off at the lab. 📸

This little guy has become one of my favourite things to bring to work. The Camp Snap is a vintage-inspired digital camera with no screen and no scrolling through shots—just point, shoot and stay in the moment. When you’re finished, plug it into your phone and the photos are right there.

I photograph the day on my professional gear, but this is something extra I bring along just for fun. At weddings, it gets passed around the bridal party. During family sessions, the kids always want a turn.

I love that photography never asks me to see the world only one way. Up close, far away, perfectly sharp, beautifully grainy, or a few hundred feet in the air … I truly want to see it all in this lifetime.

A very rainy wedding day, photographed on film.

Anna and Marko were married at Waupoos Winery in Prince Edward County beneath grey skies, surrounded by rain-soaked vineyards, summer hollyhocks and the softest diffused light.

Medium-format film is famously light-hungry, which is exactly why I continue to be so impressed by the versatility of Portra 800. Even on a darker, low-light wedding day, it held onto the luminous skin tones, rich greens, delicate blues and beautiful warmth of every scene.

Proof that film doesn’t need perfect weather—just beautiful light, wherever we can find it.
