Forever in awe of the size and shape of this rocky peak in the Valhalla Range. Best guess is the trees are up to 15 meters (50 ft) tall, a reference to help make sense of the scale of the scene.

A male Canadian Goose is watching over a nest. On a ledge below, a female goose has been sitting on a nest of eggs for over a week.

Tulip Falls

I’m preparing for my upcoming exhibition at the West Kootenay Trade Show in Castlegar that runs from April 25-27, 2025. This will be a small collection of my best pictures, and tallest tales from the past 5 years.

This picture was taken during a recent cold snap where we had -20-degree weather, and the waterfall completely froze over. As I was taking pictures, I could hear the water running under the ice.

Ladybird Sunset
Castlegar, BC

It was cold this evening up on Ladybird Mountain. An hour prior, I was getting ready to set out in a storm of rain and lightning. My clothes and gloves were still damp when I reached the ridge and with the drop in temperature and the breeze, I was cold within half an hour. I was thankful I was able to catch the sun setting with fresh snow on the trees before turning back.

Oct 10th Aurora images

A north west view with orange & pink showing up above the Selkirk range and Deer Park! It's the first time seeing orange and I doubled checked the RAW file and I have several images that show orange!

The second picture is the view looking east with the Bonnington Mountain Range just beyond the Hugh Keenleyside Dam and the industrial lights.

Public Beach under the Aurora

The Aroura Borealis was bright last night above our local public beach. With the moon below the horizon, the Aroura was bright enough to cast a large shadow on part of the forest above the beach.
