With its first pick in the 2023 QMJHL draft, the Islanders selected Owen Conrad, 20th overall. The 6’2”, 200lb. New Glasgow N.S. born rearguard played for the Weeks Major Midgets in the NSU18MHL in 22-23 tallying 32 pts in 33 games while spending only 2 minutes in the box. We’re delighted to welcome the skilled defenceman to the Island and look forward to him providing quality minutes in his rookie season as a 16 y/o.

He demonstrated more confidence, grit and tenacity than one might expect from a 16 y/o and quickly became a hometown favourite. We look for even more from the talented winger in the 23-24 season.
