A gorgeous view of the Rocky Mountains and a great place to set up and do some mapping work with the GNSS base station.

Having a base station to communicate with the satellites overhead is pivotal for getting high accuracy data when mapping with a drone. This is especially true when the connection to an NTRIP service is spotty or non existent. Mapping with drones is far more than just flying around a location. There are many things to consider, pieces of equipment and knowledge that are all required to obtain high accuracy data for length, area, and volumetric measurements.

The Mavic 3 Enterprises is a fantastic UAV platform for mapping to inspections and capturing construction progression. When you combine the Mavic 3E with an RTK module, Emlid RS2+ receivers and GCP targets you can achieve highly accurate data which can then be used to calculate volumes, areas and distances potentially down to the centimeter. This can be a huge time savings on a construction site while gaining valuable insights into your operation which will ultimately save you money.

With calving season upon us it is a busy time on the ranch. There are many tasks that need attention but only so much time. This is also a vulnerable time for those new calves once they venture into pasture with predators like coyotes lurking. There are greener days ahead! After the fresh dump of powder we just had it may seem like a long time away but soon we will be back to the gorgeous views around Cochrane. From the emerald green of Gleneagles Golf Club to the vibrant farm and ranch lands that surround our wonderful community we are fortunate to live in such a picturesque place.
