Everyone needs a Tara. ❤️

During the speeches at Tara & Corey’s wedding, Tara’s dad stood up and said, “Tara didn’t want us to come up here and talk about all of the things we love about her so instead... I’ll talk about Tara. Because everyone needs a Tara in their lives.”

He spoke about her empathy, her kindness, the way she shows up for people - and I was behind my camera, crying, thinking about my own dad and how lucky I was to have that kind of relationship too. When the speech ended, Tara hugged her dad.

And then, as I walked by her table, tears still in my eyes, she noticed. On her wedding day, with a room full of people there to celebrate her, she reached out and hugged me. She whispered that she was thinking of me, and I knew she understood that I was missing my dad.

In that moment, she was exactly who her father had just described. Kind, compassionate, and full of empathy.

It was one of the most beautiful full-circle moments I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding, and I’ll carry it with me always.

I’m going to let you all in on a little secret…

The couples with the most impactful galleries are rarely thinking about their photos.

They’re busy living their day.

They’re letting the tears flow without worrying about their makeup. They’re running through fields unbothered by a little mud on their dress. They’re soaking up every second, completely wrapped up in what’s happening right in front of them.

These photos are living proof that energy, emotion, and presence are the secret ingredients to both an incredible wedding day and incredible photos.

When you’re fully immersed in your wedding day, the photos tend to take care of themselves. ❤️🙌
