May on Vancouver Island can really go either way, but and .okayest.fisherman somehow ended up with the kind of day people hope for when they plan a coastal wedding.

Ocean views, a quiet cabin, close friends and family, and a pace that never felt rushed.

They’re the kind of couple that compliment each other in the best ways and they make everyone around them feel comfortable. Easy to be around. Even as their photographer, I never felt like a vendor standing on the outside of the day. It felt more like being welcomed into it.

The table captains absolutely carried the energy of the reception and set the tone for the entire night. Loud in the best way. Everyone fully there for them.

One of those weddings that reminds you how good simple can feel.

You don’t need a packed timeline to have a full wedding day

You need space

Space to breathe
Space to feel it
Space to actually look at each other and realize this is happening

Because the best moments are never the scheduled ones

They’re the in between

The pause before the ceremony

The way your hands find each other without thinking

The quiet second where everything else disappears

That’s the part I care about

Not just documenting what it looked like

But capturing what it felt like to be there

Newborn sessions are one of my favourites to document.

How beautiful is it that I get to witness, firsthand, the love of a new family. The instant love for this little being. The way love shifts and expands as you and your partner navigate this new chapter of your lives together.

This one was extra special. The connection between them was calm, deep, and effortless. The kind of love you feel in the room before you ever lift a camera.

One of those sessions that stays with you long after you pack up your gear. One for the books.
