There is nothing quite like watching a thunder storm roll across the big lake they call gichi gami ⚡️

I managed to grab this shot while I was at home on the north shore this summer. I was shooting photos of lightning strikes far away over the K**a hills, when all the hair on the back of my neck stood straight on end. An instant later I was blinded by this massive fork (only a bout a third of which is captured here) that smashed directly into the bay in front of me. I had just switched from my wide angle lens to my 35mm because the distant lightning wasn’t close enough to fill the frame. Needless to say this one would’ve filled the frame !
