BREAKING: The new Douglas College student housing building, 808 Royal, has been approved to feature a giant slide ending in an outdoor ball pit.

The first of its kind in Canadian higher education, the slide is designed to speed up the morning commute. Students will be able to bypass elevators and stairs entirely, delivering them directly to street-level through a thrilling multi-storey descent into hundreds of colourful plastic balls.

“This is a bold move in modern student housing,” said Douglas College President and CEO Dr. Kathy Denton. “Our goal is to make the Douglas experience faster, more fun and slightly terrifying.”

The College confirms that the slide will be available to all residents and students, provided they remove backpacks, secure loose items and accept that finding their keys in the ball pit may become a character-building experience.

“This is a chaos vortex waiting to happen,” said John Doherty, Manager, Facilities Services New Westminster Campus. “Phones will be lost. Keys will vanish. Someone will scream. Please stop telling people this is real.”
