Hello friends,

I wanted to share with you, the opportunity to pre-order my 2027 OMNP 5th Anniversary Calendar and our business greeting cards for all occasions... both featuring some award-winning images that many organizations use as meaningful gifts for clients, staff, donors, and supporters.

If calendars or cards aren't the right fit for you, that's okay.

Many organizations are finding greater value in initiatives that strengthen client relationships, engage their staff and their stories, enhance their spaces with stunning art (that can be sold and profits shared), and create lasting connections with the people they serve.

I'd love to explore how OMNP's photography, storytelling, office art, employee gifts, speaking programs, and custom content packages might help support some of your goals.

"Nature's Lantern: Where the Light Finds You"

It's one of those images you almost miss.

A simple leaf in a patch of forest. Nothing spectacular. At least not at first glance.

Then you get home, download the image, and something happens. You begin to see it differently. The details emerge. The mood reveals itself. The story starts to unfold.

The more I looked at this photograph, the more it felt like a reminder of something I've learned time and time again in my everyday life and in the field...

No matter what darkness surrounds us, nature has an incredible way of letting the light through.

I've spent countless hours wandering forests, shorelines, wetlands, mountains, and Arctic tundra.

Through some of the most difficult seasons of my life, nature has been a constant source of healing, perspective, and hope. It has a way of illuminating things we can't see, helping us discover things we didn't know were there, and sometimes shining so brightly that we're forced to confront truths we've been trying to avoid.

This leaf hung quietly beneath a canopy of shadows, yet for a brief moment, the light found it.

Maybe that's why this image resonates with me so deeply.

Sometimes we spend our lives searching for the light, only to realize it has been searching for us too.

Polar bears were never meant to spend this much time on land.

As sea ice disappears earlier and returns later across parts of the Arctic areas, more bears are being forced ashore for longer periods during the warmer months.

And when temperatures rise, many search for relief wherever they can find it.

Cold water.
Shallow coastlines.
Moments like this.

This slow-motion clip lasted only seconds, but it represents something much bigger:

A species actively adapting to a rapidly changing Arctic.

People often picture polar bears surrounded by endless snow and ice.

But increasingly, many are spending more time navigating open water, warmer temperatures, and unstable conditions that continue to reshape life in the North.

Still powerful.
Still resilient.
Still fighting to survive in an environment changing faster than most of us will ever witness firsthand.

The Arctic is not disappearing overnight.

But it is changing.

In celebration of world biodiversity day, I present Arctic Frontiers: Life at the Edge of a Changing World project.

"Where Ecosystems Collide"

The cover imagery from Arctic Frontiers: Life at the Edge of a Changing World showcases a rare convergence of ecosystems and life found along the western shores of Hudson Bay near Churchill, Manitoba. Within a single region exists an extraordinary collision of marine, tundra, and boreal environments, each supporting an incredible diversity of species uniquely adapted to survive at the edge of the world.

Polar bears roam the coastline waiting for sea ice to return. Arctic foxes weave between stunted black spruce. Ptarmigans disappear into the snow-covered tundra while migratory birds flood the skies during warmer months. Beluga whales gather offshore in summer beneath endless northern light. Every species here is connected to another through climate, migration, water, ice, and land.

What makes this region so extraordinary is not just the wildlife itself, but the overlap. Few places on Earth allow you to witness the transition between ecosystems so visibly and so powerfully. The boreal forest slowly gives way to open tundra. Freshwater systems feed into the marine environment of Hudson Bay. Predator and prey, migration and stillness, resilience and fragility all exist together in one interconnected landscape.

This is what Arctic Frontiers seeks to capture. Not simply photographs of wildlife, but a deeper story about biodiversity, connection, and the delicate balance holding these northern ecosystems together.

On International Day for Biological Diversity, this project stands as both a celebration and a reminder: protecting biodiversity means protecting entire systems, not just individual species. Because when one piece changes, every ecosystem connected to it changes as well.
