It's a new year, and there are so many new faces that have followed along in 2025, so I figured it's time I re-introduce myself!

My name is Alisha, and I'm the face behind the camera here at A Thousand Words Photography.

I am thrilled you are here, and considering me to be your photographer! I am a lake-loving, chocolate-milk-drinking, crime and medical show binge-watcher with a soft spot for antiques and all things nostalgic.
I’ve loved photography since I was about 10 years old, but it truly became my passion around October of 2021, about five months after my dad passed away, when it turned into both a creative outlet and a way to hold onto meaningful moments.

I was born in Calgary, but grew up in Martensville. At 24, I bought my home in Dalmeny and it's where I have called home for almost 7 years now.

I work full-time as a Cabinet Designer while chasing the dream of photographing full-time one day.

Family means everything to me — I have one weirdo brother, a kick-ass sister-in-law, two incredible nephews, the best mom in the world, and a loving, supportive partner. Thomas and I share our home with three lovable butthead cats: Hank, Yager, and Midnight 🐈

I like to think I’m incredibly funny, and I can pretty much guarantee I’ll make you laugh during our session, while also being your ultimate hype girl every step of the way.

I can't wait to meet you and preserve your memories throughout 2026 ✨📸
