This Industry Has Changed — An Honest Post
2025 was the hardest year of my career.
And honestly… the hardest year I’ve had in a long time.
There were many moments where closing my studio felt like a very real possibility. At 41, I’ve found myself taking steps toward a new career path—something I never imagined after pouring so much of my heart, identity, and life into photography.
I know I’m not alone. I’ve watched so many incredibly talented photographers quietly close their studios this year, and the outlook for 2026 isn’t feeling much better. The industry we built, sacrificed for, and loved has shifted in ways none of us could have predicted.
And yet—despite how hard this year has been—I am deeply grateful. Grateful for every family who trusted me with their most tender moments in 2025. Your support, referrals, kind words, and loyalty truly carried me through.
As I step back into a traditional work role, my photography availability will be very limited moving forward. I will only be accepting 2–3 newborn, maternity, or cake smash sessions per month.
If working together has been on your heart, I encourage you to book sooner rather than later. Thank you for standing by me, for supporting this chapter, and for allowing me to do the work I love—however it may look from here 🤍
