Two people very dear to me, Ivy & Joe, are on a journey that I know so many of us can understand the weight and vulnerability of sharing.

They are incredibly lucky to have each other, and more than anything, they dream of growing their family together. Unfortunately, their journey to get there hasn’t been an easy one, and they are now looking toward IVF to hopefully make that dream a reality.

Ontario does offer funding for a first round of IVF, but funded doesn’t mean free. There are still many costs that come along with fertility treatments. Because they don’t have benefits, their medications will be completely out of pocket, and additional options such as genetic testing can quickly bring those costs to $10,000+.

They've started an IVF puzzle fundraiser, where each $10 donation represents a puzzle piece, with the donor's name written on the back as a reminder of everyone who helped them along the way.

And I wanted to do a little something of my own to help.

As someone who proudly markets myself as a motherhood photographer, this felt like it fit so perfectly with everything I love about what I do. I get to document the love, anticipation, connection and beautiful chaos that comes with growing a family — so being able to support someone in the very beginning stages of that journey feels incredibly special to me. 🤍

So, I'm putting my camera to work for a cause that means so much to me.

And while I'm glad someone will walk away with a beautiful photo session, the real purpose behind this is so much bigger than that. It's about helping two people who are doing everything they can to grow their family and reminding them that they don't have to walk this road alone.

They've shared that one day, they hope to tell their little one all about the journey they took to finally meet them — and just how incredibly loved they were before they were even born.

I would absolutely love to help them show just how big that village is. 🥹🤍

Okay, okay… I know I’ve been seriously lacking on the wedding posts lately but HOW could I not share these sneaks from M + T’s incredibly special day?!

First of all their colours?! EVERYTHING. Every little detail and personal touch was so perfectly them, and I loved getting to document it all.

From T’s voiceover playing before she walked down the aisle, to M’s surprise personalization on his wedding jacket, to the incredibly thoughtful gifts they exchanged… every little detail had so much meaning behind it. 🥹

And the love these two share? Nothing short of amazing. It was so obvious throughout the entire day — in the little glances, the laughs, the way they looked at each other, and every word spoken about them.

One of my favourite moments was hearing M’s best man speak about M’s journey and the struggles he faced leaving his home country, while also hearing about the two of them from the perspective of their friendship as they got ready for the day.

M + T, thank you for trusting me to be a part of such an important chapter in your lives. It was truly an honour to capture it all.

You both looked absolutely incredible, and I’m so excited to share more from your day. 🤍

There’s something so special about getting to document different chapters of the same people’s lives. I’ve known H for a very long time, and I’ve had the honour of capturing so many different phases of their journey together — including their wedding day, which is still home to some of my favourite photos I’ve ever taken.

And now here we are, waiting for their sweetest chapter yet… their baby girl.

One thing about Mom though, the face card does NOT decline. So obviously, when I get the chance to pull mom aside for some solo shots, she absolutely DELIVERED. Just look at her. 🔥

I know this journey hasn’t always been the easiest, but they made it here — and I truly couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. I already know these two are going to be the absolute best parents, and their little girl is so incredibly loved already.

So excited to watch this next chapter unfold and even more grateful that I get to be the one behind the camera documenting it all.

Some sessions are extra special when you’ve had the privilege of watching a family grow over the years.

For this one, we followed S’s lead — because when your “big sibling” is still a toddler, they’re definitely in charge! 😂 Meanwhile, sweet little M snoozed away through pretty much the whole thing, completely unbothered by all the excitement around him.

Mom has been a friend of mine for many years, so getting to watch her family grow and being invited to capture these special moments along the way means more than I can put into words. I’m so incredibly happy to be a small part of their story and to freeze these memories for them to look back on for years to come. 🤍

Welcome to the family, sweet M. You are so loved.

Sometimes a family session turns into something a little more special…

I had the pleasure of photographing Des & J last year for some sweet mom & son photos, so when mom reached out this year for family photos, I was of course looking forward to seeing them again! What I didn’t know was that this session had a very special surprise planned.

I had never met D (boyfriend turned fiancé) before, but he had done his research and figured out who would be photographing their family session — aka me — and reached out because he wanted to make this moment extra special. 🥹

His plan? Hide the ring box in his sock.
Now, in my head I was immediately panicking… Is he wearing shorts?! How is she NOT going to notice this?! 😂

Thankfully, when D showed up in the most perfect linen pants and shirt set, I was instantly relieved. And even better, he had found the perfect thin ring box for the surprise, making it nearly impossible for Des to catch on.

Our plan was to start with one of my usual couple prompts, with J included — D would come up from behind, catch her in a big bear hug, and of course, she had to look back as she was “running away.”

So once I had everything set up, I told her, “Okay, you’re going to look back…”

“Look back, Des!”

And it took Des a good minute to process what was actually happening… because D was no longer standing behind her — he was down on one knee.

Her reaction, the excitement, the surprise… absolutely EVERYTHING. It was so incredibly special to witness and even more special to be trusted to capture it.

And of course, the rest of the session was nothing short of amazing.

D & D, I’m so incredibly happy I got to be a small part of this unforgettable moment. Wishing you both nothing but a lifetime of happiness, love, and all the best as you take this next step in your journey together. 🤍

How absolutely handsome is G?! These two were the sweetest together, with so many smiles, giggles, cuddles, and so much love between them. You can feel the bond they share in every single photo, and I’m so happy I got to capture these little moments for them. 🥹

2 dates left in September 🫶🏼

Hi all!

I've been getting lots of inquires about when I'm opening up my books for Summer sessions.
Some of you know, some of you don't but I'm expecting a new addition to our crazy family at the end of April!
Anyone who has already discussed sessions with me - if these dates don't work we will work out what's best for you! (As long as I'm not already shooting a wedding that weekend etc etc)
Anyone else who hasn't booked but would like to book with me there's only a few options every month so don't hesitate to secure one.
If this baby doesn't give me a run for my money I may open up other days but I of course will need to be a mom first and foremost so I don't want to maternity leave on ya'll and I'm hoping this is a good happy medium!
