On Saturday night, the fans in Sault Ste Marie had a chance to welcome back one of their favourites and cheer as his number 7 was raised to the rafters.

Jeff Carter is now a Greyhound Legend!

Selected 3rd overall by the Soo Greyhounds in 2001, Carter found his hockey home in a Northern Ontario city where hard work is truly appreciated. In four seasons with the Greyhounds, Carter totalled 123 goals and 123 assists in 236 regular-season games, captured gold with Canada’s world junior team in 2005, and served as captain for his final two years.

Drafted 11th overall by Philadelphia in a star-studded 2003 draft class, he went on to play 1,321 NHL games with the Flyers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Los Angeles Kings and Pittsburgh Penguins, recording 442 goals and 409 assists. He won two Stanley Cups with Los Angeles, appeared in two NHL All-Star Games, and captured Olympic gold with Canada in 2014.

On February 7, 1976 Darryl Sittler set an NHL Record with 10 points in 1 game as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Boston Bruins at MLG.

Honoured to work with the to help celebrate the 90th Birthday of hockey pioneer Willie O’Ree this past week.

Producing a that was presented to O’Ree by the and also providing them with glass vials of bronze shavings which helped raise money for their foundation.

A trailblazer who broke the colour barrier with the Boston Bruins on January 15, 1958 in Montreal.

Willie O’Ree’s career, including his pioneering NHL breakthrough, has been widely recognized. His hometown of Fredericton added O’Ree to its Sports Wall of Fame in 1992, and in 2008, the city named a new sports complex after him. He was elected to the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame in 1984, and in 2005, was named to the Order of New Brunswick. In 2006, O’Ree was added to the Black Ice Hockey and Sports Hall of Fame. He was honoured by the NHL during the 2008 NHL All-Star Game in Atlanta. San Diego State University presented Willie with an award for Outstanding Commitment to Diversity and Cross-Cultural Understanding in 2008. That same year, he was inducted into the San Diego Hall of Champions honouring that city’s finest athletes. In 2003, O’Ree received the NHL’s Lester Patrick Trophy for his contributions to hockey in the United States. And then, in 2008, Willie O’Ree received the Order of Canada, the highest civilian award given to a Canadian Citizen.
