Founded in the 1950s by Montreal's Ukrainian diaspora, it quickly became a place for the community to escape Montreal's hot summers, and for youth to learn the core principles and skills of scouting. In the sixty years since, Ukrainian-Canadians have worked and played in it's forests, streams, and lake, while generation after generation of PLAST scouts have grown up with Baturyn as a second home.

170 Ukrainian scouts who attended the 75th Anniversary of Plast Canada summer camp in B.C. are stranded far from home due to the Air Canada labour dispute. Many are newcomers who fled the war in Ukraine and now face unexpected separation from their families. CUF is providing $5,000 for lodging and logistics to help bring these young people home safely. When our community needs support, we answer the call.

170 scouts ukrainiens qui ont participé au camp d’été du 75e anniversaire de Plast Canada en Colombie-Britannique se retrouvent coincés loin de chez eux en raison du conflit de travail chez Air Canada. Plusieurs sont de nouveaux arrivants ayant fui la guerre en Ukraine et font maintenant face à une séparation inattendue de leurs familles. La FCU offre une aide de 5 000 $ pour l’hébergement et la logistique afin de ramener ces jeunes en toute sécurité. Quand notre communauté a besoin de soutien, nous répondons présent.
