This heart-wrenching photo captures the stark contrast between human cruelty and animal compassion. Milly, the dog on the stretcher, has suffered unimaginable abuse. She was ridiculed, painted, tied up, dragged behind a car, and ultimately sh--o--t. Her ordeal is a testament to the depths of human cruelty.

Yet, amidst this darkness, there is a glimmer of hope. A Border Collie, also a victim of abuse, approaches Milly with tenderness. Despite their own suffering, this compassionate dog stays by Milly's side, offering comfort and support. It's a powerful reminder that even in the face of cruelty, there are beings who show unwavering kindness and solidarity. ❤️

"Thursday night,l was sitting in my garage smoking a cigarette. Horrible habit, I know. 4 young men rushed me, decided they wanted my car, beat me up, and wanted my
keys. I told them the keys were in the house. They decided to go in. What they weren't expecting were my 280lb Pit Bulls. They are sweethearts and the kindest dogs
you'll ever know, but protect their home and owner with finesse. My beautiful babies charged these a**holes and stood over me as I laid on the floor of my garage, forever
protecting me. They are rescues. Unwanted dogs. They saved my life. Please consider adopting a rescue.
They might save your life too."

Well R***r saved me a hospital trip maybe even my life. He has never bitten me beside playing but today while walking the lake as we always do he became pretty aggressive nipping at me then wrapped my leg and his dew claws really dig in I turned to scold him and he ran around me like trying to avoid me.
I turned to grab him and found him confronting a copperhead backed against a log, fighting to protect me until I fetched a stick to assist. Tears nearly filled my eyes as I realized he risked his life to save me. I sat down with him, embracing him tightly. Without a doubt, he's my guardian. The title of the best dog ever unquestionably belongs to him. Rather have this cut that the bite from that copperhead any day.
Thankful for my best friend.
