I’ve put this off for far too long…

At the end of April, I along with my partner and some close friends hopped on a plane for a two week stay in beautiful, sunny Peru 🇵🇪 Growing up poor and my family barely making enough to make ends meet, I never imagined THIS being within the realm of possibility. But from Lima and Cusco to Arequipa to Huacachina, I marvelled at all the beauty and wonder — and then Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to go on this trip. So here’s some of my favourite shots from those two weeks.

Lest we forget 🥀

When I passed through Ottawa on my way to Edmonton earlier this year, I made a point of visiting the National War Memorial. I’ve seen it on TV since I was a child, but its real-life beauty struck me in an indescribable way. Recognizing Canada’s history and the soldiers who died for our freedom means a great deal to me. Please take a moment to do the same as I will.

You best believe I took this photo from a distance because I didn’t need these members of the Royal Canadian Air Force to murder me in front of a government building. This in the beautiful city of Regina, Saskatchewan, in front of the Provincial Legislative Building. I’d love to go back and explore more — with or without the geese.

On the road again…

It feels like that song “I’ve been everywhere!” This was in rural Ontario a few months ago as I made my way from Ottawa to Thunder Bay. This was a stretch of highway where there was nothing but me and the open road — no phone service, no radio, just silence. Peaceful. ❤️

Down by the river side

It’s been almost two months since I made my way across country to follow my dream and the love of my life. It was exhausting, but nothing compares to the sights I saw. Every corner of this country is so pretty! It was in rural Ontario that I stopped for gas and found this little pier. It was a nice break from driving and a great way to stop the world.

I’m making my way across country for an exciting opportunity, but I’m still daydreaming of my night spent in Ottawa. What a place to be! Our nation’s capital looks so pretty in the evening and there’s so much to see. I believe you can find beauty and artistry in anything, such as this newsstand for . It’s a good omen for me as someone who recently graduated from journalism school. Are you an Exclaim! reader? Let me know in the comments!

But in all seriousness, I'm just stopping in as I make my way to another destination for an exciting opportunity.
