I can’t believe Ash Wednesday is this week! ✝️
Looking back, Christmas brought a lot of joy. My husband and I visited friends, went to mass, and I got to meet new clients from photography.
Greg heard about me from one of my returning clients. To my surprise, Greg’s wife was an Indonesian too! We shared stories about Indonesian culture, travels, and of course, Bali!
Looking forward, I want to contemplate on how best to offer myself, my talents, and my heart to God. Sometimes, a checklist just won’t do because what matters is in the heart.
That being said, I pray that you will have a blessed Lent 🙏🏻 Jesus, I trust in You.

Merry Christmas! 🎄
This is just the beginning :) I’m so happy to share some mini session results taken in Hey! You Studio.
Lately, I realized something. And by lately, I meant since December 20th. One, God keeps His promise. Two, it only takes a yes. Three, He is super gentle. And fourth, with God anything is possible.
Think about Abraham. God promised and Abraham believed. Think about Mary. She also said yes. In both cases, it’s all about faith. Do we trust Him? In other words, are we willing to accept His love? It goes beyond that.
Elizabeth was pregnant at old age and Mother Mary is the Immaculate Conception. How’s that even possible? Well, with God anything is possible. If it is God’s will, let it be done.
For sure we will go through hard stuff. Being Christians means bearing our cross, joyfully. We rejoice to the fact that we share the sorrow Jesus experienced. But God is gentle, super gentle.
His love is merciful. We only need to ask - to say, “God, I tried my best. I really did. And I cannot. Please help, my cross is impossible to bear.” And guess what? If we give our heart to Him, He can definitely help. Think about it this way: God is the most powerful friend you can ever have.

A joyful season 🎄
This Advent season, I got a chance to read In Conversation with God by Francis Fernandez-Carvajal. It allows me to meditate the daily readings. And one of the things I learned was this: With God, anything is possible.
I first met Angelica through Facebook. I offered some spring photos with cherry blossoms in the Catholic Young Adult group, and she was interested. Later, I asked her advice about joining Catholic groups and she introduced me to Opus Dei.
To me, Angelica and her joyful family is an example of love. They taught me about patience, positivity, and playfulness between parents and the kids. This they showed by example, not by telling anything.
Without Him, we can do nothing. In our daily lives, it is important to always ask God’s help. I think what makes life perfect is God’s presence. And so, I hope for much graces and joy for this Advent season… so that we can celebrate Jesus’ birth with love.

Leadership as a gift from God 👑
In the book of Daniel, there were prophecies he interpreted. One of them is about the statue with mixed materials. Yes, there were Babylonians, Greeks, and many earthly kingdoms. But in the end, God’s kingdom will rule.
I admire both my clients CJ and Oge. Not only they worked hard, they planned very well for their son’s 1st birthday party. I was amazed how they envisioned it and better yet, executed it with great details. All the guests celebrated with joy and laughter - especially in the Musical Chairs game.
There are videos about leadership. We ought to think the Why, we ought to fake it till you make it… One favorite lesson I heard is “Shoulders wide and chin up” to show confidence. But most importantly, we ought to recognize our leadership is a gift from God. He allows it to happen.
Parents, ministry leaders, managers… let’s be thankful for our leadership and serve others with much love. Let us be His instrument to guide, to be the salt and light.

🌟Getting ready for Christmas!✨
As some of you might know, I offer Christmas mini sessions on December 2nd. Mary Ann approached me and requested an earlier date and so, we went ahead booking .you.studio for a family session with their cute dogs!
I was watching a funny reel the other day, where the person advised parents to teach repetitive “papapapa” so the baby can adopt the word Papa faster. There’s also a priest who mentioned femininity and masculinity affect babies differently; one comforts them and the other excites them.

It got me thinking… kids do look up to parents. They watch, they observe, they want to imitate what parents do. In the Catholic church, parents hold an important role of teaching their children. We ought to teach them about Jesus, about our faith, about the teachings.
One thing I’d like to encourage mothers and fathers out there… when kids ask deeper questions about the Catholic faith, don’t hesitate to learn together. You can learn from the Cathecism, from the parish priest, from the Holy Bible together. There’s nothing wrong with asking questions. Kids are curious anyway - it’s in human nature. And it is OK to learn together as well as a family.

✨The joy of getting married✨
When I was a child, our study room was filled with the Holy Family sacred art. My favorite was the statue of Mother Mary and Saint Joseph walking together with child Jesus. Even today, I have a triptych in my home altar. It brought me peace and encouragement.
Exchanging vows is the start of a new mission, the start where spouses build a family. Many times Mother Mary and Saint Joseph rely on God… they went to Bethlehem and Jesus was born there, they escaped to Egypt and lived there for a while… Just like the Holy Family, we are called to rely on God in this adventure.
Congratulations to Abigail and Cody! As Father Mark mentioned in the homily, it is beautiful to be there “until death do us apart.” Let us celebrate what God unites together 🙏🏻

“Do my actions geared towards sanctification?”
Last September I went to a retreat and we did examination of conscience. One of the reflective questions were the one I mentioned. And for some reason, my heart was moved.
Here’s what I believe. We are all called to be with God in Heaven. We are called to holiness. Everything we do therefore… our decisions, our actions, our responses to the call matter.
Today, I invite you to pray. We can ask Our Lady’s intercession through the rosary. We can ask Saints’ intercessions for our spouse and children. We can pray for anyone (anyone!) that we think of, asking God’s protection for him or her.
Seek holiness!

Charisms 🌟 Have you heard of them? Lately, I’ve been researching about spiritual gifts and I wondered what mine were.
There are tests online, including “Called and Gifted” from Catherine of Siena Institute and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and School. I myself took a test from . I discovered that I had craftsmanship (quite predictable since I’m an artsy person) but I’m also good at encouraging people.
So, what are charisms for? They are gifts from God freely given to us. And when we say Yes, we can use these spiritual gifts to help build the Church! With a spiritual gift in music, you can move people’s heart towards God’s beauty and goodness. With a spiritual gift of gifting, you can help those in need, as well as the church ministries.
Love is about serving others. Love is about self-giving. In this season of thanksgiving, let us pray to the Sacred Heart of Jesus to teach us how to be merciful to others.
