Golden Reflections

I was walking around in Grandin Park, hoping to find something interesting to photograph. It was around noon when I saw the reflections of the bare trees created beautiful patterns on the water. At the time, I didn't really notice the warm colors that would later emerge.

It wasn't until I looked at the image on my computer that I was surprised by the golden tones hidden in the scene. With some careful adjustments, those colors came to life, transforming what had seemed like an ordinary moment into something much more magical.

Sometimes the beauty we capture isn't fully revealed until later, and this photograph reminded me that nature still has surprises waiting for us.

Smelt Brooke shore Cape Breton Island

Hiking in an out of the way location on the north east shore of Cape Breton there is a little fishing village called Smelt Brook Shore and this is a hike following the shoreline out to the sea. It was a windy day and the surf was amazing.

Colombia, in the Sierra Nevada

The Sierra Nevada is a bird photographer?s paradise. Traveling by 4x4 up the mountainside for 1 1/2 hours you are rewarded by an amazing assortment of birds. Fortunately, I turned around in time to capture this hummingbird, enjoying a sip of poinsettia!
