Reflecting on 2024 as part of my photography journey - lots of aurora, dabbling in corporate, and spending time with family about sums it up. Birding definitely took a back seat as we explored with my daughter instead, and the most time I had to snap pics was in the wee hours after full days of time together or my day job. And it was a great year regardless!

I know my photography will be there for when my daughter is older, and for 2025 I plan to still enjoy as many moments with her as I can, and spend even less time on social media. Photography is a form of self care for me, so I'll still get out when I can, but the main goal is to relax and not feel pressure to post or stay relevant with it.

Here's to 2025 being everything you want it to be, no matter where you are at in your life or photography journey!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to photograph Concordia University newest building, Braaksma Hall while there for a corporate function. Excited to share more photos of this beautiful building! Reimagine Architects

An autumn road trip to BC for a wedding allowed for a few rest stops with the beautiful autumn colors (and a restless toddler haha). Taken somewhere in Banff or Kootenay National Park. 🍂🍁

Well I made it out for one epic aurora night this week! Oct. 10 was phenomenal. It was a better show to watch and video rather than photograph to be honest because it was so fast moving, but I got a few I like 😄 shot from my backyard in YEG!

Wowzers what a night! The elegant lady Aurora showed up with a bang and many faces. A fun one to shoot as it changed so much in just a couple of hours! In order of appearance:

My daughter's favorite bug. So happy to capture one in the amazing G4 storm we experienced last night, and right outside my door in Edmonton! What a magical night it was.

Hello! It's been a while 😆 I still do exist, just been too busy enjoying my mat leave with my little to post much! I eventually will get back posting my backlog of photos on here! Meanwhile, it's October, so here's a photo of me in a pumpkin patch from last month. 🎃

May Long incoming! We are taking our daughter to the mountains for her first time this long weekend, excited to show her some of our favorite places. Wish us luck for the long car rides!

Happy Mother's Day to all moms of all forms 💗 here is a GHO fledgling from earlier this spring - no doubt mama owl was close by, keeping an eye on her little one as it grows up!

It's World Migratory Bird Day today! If you can, try to get outside and appreciate our feathered friends on this fine day! Make sure there is ample water out in your yard since it's so hot out, and a seed snack (or oranges and sugar water for Orioles and hummers) is also appreciated!!

Here's a Ring Necked Pheasant from earlier this spring in honor of this special day!

Happy Monday! Here's hoping we get some much needed rain in the province this week to help with the fires. I'm wishing for water, so here's a throwback to a waterfall in Quebec last fall. 🍂
