I created a new blog post! Click the link and check out my mini story of my adventure with this snowy owl in Southern Alberta!

I was fortunate enough to spend a few days in Taber, Alberta, for a work project. As the project completed I had about 1.5 hour of sunlight left on my drive home. I was about 30 mins into driving when I saw this beautiful snowy owl on a post along the side of the road. I pulled over and made my way....

I made another blog post explaining my introduction to the awesome band, Fall Of Earth, and some info about a concert coming up in Edmonton on November 19th. Give it a read, watch the video, and enjoy the photos! Thanks.

Earlier this year, I was contacted by a friend of a friend looking to create a video for a band. I was introduced to the band, Fall of Earth, and loved their music right off the bat. They currently have 1 album available. I spoke with Ken, the band's manager and we set up a meeting with the guys in....

Gilbert, a great grey owl looking for his 4th meal of the evening. Just as we were about to give up, the ghost of Alberta decided to show his beauty to us. We were very fortunate to actually see three of these beautiful birds last night. I love that it started to snow to give the atmosphere behind Gilbert, making the photos 100x more interesting. I’m excited to share some more of these shots over the next couple days.

A few more shots of Sean and his gang, for you to enjoy. I’ve wanted to find SEO’s for several years now but never seemed to have any luck. But, after hearing of some activity not far out of Edmonton I thought I’d give it a shot and go check them out. Fortunately I was able to find them relatively quickly, and they seemed to be very active, flying around, diving down for food (mostly missing), and doing some aerial acrobatics with each other. We watched for about 2 hours, seeing up to 10 different individuals. For the most part they kept their distance and it was hard to photograph, but every now and then, one would come within shooting range, and I was able to pop off a few shots. The SEO’s are fairly skittish and don’t like being close to humans (I don’t blame them), so we deployed the drive by tactic for a few of them. One of us would drive slowly past the bird, and the other would shoot out the window while going past and creating minimal disturbance. This seemed to work very well. Let me know which photo is your favourite! Thanks 😊

Douglas - Snowy Owl, Central Alberta. After 300kms of driving around, Kam and I found 2 snowy owls! The first flew off instantly, and the second stuck around for a little while to let me get a photo of him. As much as I dislike the power poles that it was sitting on, I do love the contrast of the rust and colours on it. I wish to get one of these beautiful birds sitting in a tree or a natural space one day.
