Although it is exciting that she is ready to focus on rehabilitation now, it is a difficult move for everyone involved.
COVID RESTRICTIONS have played a major role in their lives. Right from the start there were only two people allowed to be with her. The same two people only. It was decided her mom and her youngest sister would be the two. Then another person was allowed to be on the list... for a short period of time. Her other younger sister came from Nova Scotia to see her. Thank goodness she arrived when she did... she was allowed to see her once before the restrictions closed visitors back down to the original two. At this point she still hadn't seen her little brother and I think dad had been let in once or twice.
Her main constant, her advocate, her voice was mom. Every day. AND that is now changing with this move. The centre she has been moved to is almost 1 1/2 hour drive from the city. The COVID restrictions are ALOT more. Only the same two people are allowed to see her... one weekday and a few hours on one weekend day...these will be scheduled.
My heart is breaking for her and the family over this. What a HUGE adjustment for all of them.
Christine is strong and strong-willed, so I have the feeling that in the end she will use this as her reason to work harder so she can be back with her family as soon as possible.
I know I have asked for this alot, AND I am asking again AND will continue to ask you for your prayers and support for both her and her family... send an extra hug to mom.
