Yesterday we had the pleasure of having Ahead by a Century - A Tribute to the Tragically Hip in the studio with their new drummer.

It’s always fun catching up and hearing what everyone’s been up to, great energy, lots of laughs, and they really get into the creative process. We played around with gels, smoke, and lighting setups, created some new content for them, and came away with some seriously cool shots.

Now I’ve just got to get a few of them back in for some of my own creative projects as well.

Sessions like this remind us why we love what we do.

One light.
One subject.
One moment.

And suddenly…

Quintin Kluczny sits calm, controlled, and a little dangerous… like whatever he’s thinking, it matters. The light, the shadows, the stillness, it all feels like a moment frozen mid-scene.

He looks like he could literally get up, walk out that door, and step straight into that world without missing a beat.

One of the things I’ve always loved about photography is working with musicians and entertainers.

Every band has its own personality, its own energy, its own story. My passion is creating images that capture that, something unique, something a little different, something that feels like who they are.
Some shoots turn cinematic, some turn playful, and some become completely unexpected. That creative process is what I love most.

Here are a few of the bands and performers I’ve had the chance to create with over the years.
Working with artists who live and breathe their craft is always an inspiring experience.

“There’s always room for the next band to step in front of the camera.”

Scarlet Haze, Bear Grease, Ahead by a Century, T-Rooster, The Stevie Project, Sugar and Spice, Ruby and the Hitmen, Forsaken Rite

In Perpetuity (in per-puh-TOO-uh-tee)

Sometimes a photograph becomes more than just an image.

It becomes a moment in your journey, a moment when something clicks and you realize you’ve created something that truly represents who you are as an artist.

Let me know what you think.

The Phrase That Made Me Pause Recently I came across an interview with Jamie Lee Curtis where she shared advice her father once gave her when she started acting. Her father, Tony Curtis, told her something simple but powerful. He reminded her that whenever a camera captures you, whenever something

The Emotional Side of Competitions

Entering photography competitions can be one of the most rewarding, and at times one of the most vulnerable, experiences as an artist.

Respect for the Judging Process Before anything else, I want to say that I have a great deal of respect for the judges who take on this responsibility. Judging images is not an easy task. Each photograph must be evaluated for many different elements, impact, composition, lighting, storytelling, t

Happy International Women’s Day.

As a female photographer running my own studio, I feel incredibly proud to be part of a creative world filled with talented, passionate women. It has been such a pleasure to work with and be among so many talented and beautiful women, musicians, artists, entertainers, photographers, and creatives in the arts.

Teaching and sharing knowledge with other photographers has also become an important and meaningful part of my journey.

One creative experience I’m especially proud of was being part of the Ethno Fashion Gala in 2018, where I designed and created 20 headpieces along with several outfits for the show. Being part of such a beautiful celebration of creativity and culture was an incredible honour.

I’ve also had the privilege of working with the amazingly talented Indigenous performers from Bear Grease. Watching their journey grow all the way to Off-Broadway, and knowing that some of my work ended up in New York because of them, is something I will always be grateful for.

Over the years I’ve had many talented artists come through my studio. Some of them are now rising, growing, and making big names for themselves. Watching their journeys unfold has been truly special. Seeing their photographs hanging on the wall in my studio, what I call my “Wall of Fame”, reminds me how fortunate I’ve been to witness and be a small part of their stories.

It’s also been incredible to see my art and photography featured on album covers, and to realize how far this creative journey has taken me.
I’ve also had the honour of seeing my photography featured on the cover of the magazine Alberta Senior Living, not once, but twice. It was an incredible feeling to see my work out in the world, and even more special when someone shared a photo with me of the magazine sitting on the shelves in a library.

Looking ahead, I would truly love to collaborate with more incredible women I haven’t had the chance to meet yet.

So here’s my invitation: if you’re a musician, artist, performer, creative, or photographer with ideas and passion, my studio door is open. Let’s connect. Let’s talk. Let’s create something meaningful together.

When women support each other, uplift each other, and celebrate each other’s work, powerful things happen.
