I’ve been lax…sorry about that. But back to my countdown! This is the photo that got me going in as I learned a lot while playing with the program. But I love the action in this pic, especially the violence of the water splashing all over as the kayaker fights to make a gate.

So once again, I got in some double duty during a two-day trip with to the show at . I saw my first western dressage rider, along with some other very impressive equestrian athletes.

Thanks to Maya Markowski and her team for putting together a great event that was smoothly run -- a photographer couldn't ask for more.

Sometimes, you get lucky ... and sometimes, you time it just right. Right place, right time, right moment you press the button.

Here's another of my favourite pictures I've taken. was in the middle of his MVP season for the when we paid a visit to the Dome (sorry, Rogers Centre) to see the Jays and Detroit Tigers go at it. And thanks to Josh for helping me out by crushing this pitch. It's my favourite memory of going to Blue Jays games...

When I look back at the pictures I've taken, this one stands out for a lot of reasons. Timing was everything, and the situation helped to dictate the emotion. When I swung my camera around and began shooting, it was clear to me this picture was a winner (in more than one sense of the word).

This is one of my favourites, but it's not at the top. That one is coming soon.

I was able to pull some double duty with during our trip to Anglestone Tournaments for a Caledon Dressage Association event earlier this month. It marked the first time I'd shot a dressage event in a long time, but I think the shots showed some cool aspects of the show from my viewpoint.

This is my favourite photograph that I've taken in the last five years. I got it while driving just outside St. Marys one night while I was out. Sometimes a great photo is just being in the right place for the right moment.

The bond between humans and animals is a special one when you let them close. Being there to take pictures of it made me appreciate the bond even more.

I'm lucky to have a good eye when it comes to looking through a camera at things, and I'm luckier to have access to some pretty incredible places. It helps, of course, to have family that makes those places special.
