I’ve been here a number of times, but early in the morning there’s always a magic to being out here before the world seemingly wakes up. Like no other landscape I’ve been before (until I eventually get to Bolivia..) 🌄

Oregon leaving me speechless as per usual. 🌋

It was cloudy and cold for the sunset at this spot the evening prior, so deciding to get up for sunrise was a real challenge for me this morning a few months ago. But this sunrise happened to be a bit extra special, as it came during a time when I was in a bit of a rut for photography as a “hobby” and getting out for fun. I had been so busy with the work side of photography, that I was experiencing some real photo burnout. 💨

This morning was the first domino for me to start getting back out there and enjoying the fun of taking photos again for myself. Anyone else go through these ups and downs with their photography? 📸

The Canadian Rockies are one of those places that are absolutely stunning in all seasons, but in the winter, it becomes the definition of the term winter wonderland. I would love to have a counter for how many times I said “wow that’s beautiful” from this weekend. The limit does not exist. ❄️❄️❄️

Personally, I always find star trail images the most difficult form of landscape photography, purely in terms of patience. It takes a lot of planning, and even more patience to be setup in one spot, in the pitch black of night for well over an hour. But the results are typically 🤌🏼🤌🏼
