✨ Art has never just been about “pretty pictures.” It’s a f***ing lifeline. It’s therapy. It’s the place where you get to throw all your mess, your magic, your heartbreak, your joy...and turn it into something that makes you feel human again.

For so many of us, creating isn’t optional. It’s survival. It’s how we breathe through the heavy s**t, how we claw our way back when life knocks us flat.

I’ve spent 14 years watching people step into that magic in front of my lens. Not just becoming a character, but finding pieces of themselves they thought they lost. And as I grow, evolve, absorb — over the 14 years of Lady Luck Photography Studio, I’m sharing some of the wild, fantasy-driven, soul-shaking work that reminded me (and them) that art f***ing saves.

So if you’ve ever made something... ANYTHING I want you to remember this: you don’t need permission. You don’t need perfection. You just need to let it out. That’s where the healing lives. That’s where you live.

✨ If you’d told me 10 years ago that I wouldn’t give a s**t what people thought of me, I’d have said you were crazy. Back then, I lived for approval. If someone didn’t like me, it wrecked me.

But here’s what I know now: I’m not perfect, but I am a good person. I own my mistakes, I learn, I grow—and at my core, I’ve always been genuine.

If I could talk to 16-year-old me, I’d tell her: “Your sensitivity feels like a weakness now, but one day you’ll realize it’s your greatest strength.”

Yes, I’ve faced challenges—loss, health battles, moments where life flipped upside down—but those experiences didn’t break me. They built me. They taught me gratitude, resilience, and what truly matters.

And with that second chance, I refuse to play small.
This is my mission: to use what I’ve been given to shine a light on mental health, to remind people that the most important relationship you’ll ever have is with yourself, and to encourage us all to be our own best friends. To show ourselves compassion. To stop measuring our worth by other people’s opinions.

Because peace doesn’t come from being liked—it comes from being kind to yourself. And that’s the freedom I’ll never take for granted. 💜

You can’t be perfect for everyone, and honestly, you can’t even be “perfect” for yourself, because perfect doesn’t exist. And thank goodness it doesn’t, because can you imagine the pressure? If perfect was a real thing, it would probably come with a user manual thicker than a Sears Christmas catalog.

Let that idea go. Perfection is like a unicorn riding a jet ski, fun to picture, but it’s not showing up at your door. The second you stop chasing it, you finally get to breathe and drop all that heavy stuff you’ve been carrying.

Because here’s the truth: trying to be everything to everybody is exhausting, like running a marathon in Crocs exhausting. No matter how much you do, people are only ever going to meet you where they’re at.

So instead of breaking yourself trying to keep everyone happy, put that energy into YOU. Fill your own cup. Do what’s right even when no one’s looking. That’s not selfish, that’s smart.

And here’s the magic part: when you choose yourself, the right people and the right situations naturally gravitate toward you, like squirrels to a picnic basket. The ones meant for you will meet you exactly where you are.

Long story short: stop chasing perfect, stop trying to be everybody’s everything. Start living in a way that makes you laugh, makes you happy, and keeps your soul light. 🌲✨

In 2013, Lady Luck Photography Studio (Aka Lady Luck Pin Ups) said goodbye to her very first studio in Dunnville. From there came St. Catharines, then Ridgeway.
Each chapter carrying new faces, new stories, and more magic than I ever could have dreamed.
What stayed the same through it all were the incredible humans who trusted me to capture their laughter, their tears, their beauty, their truth. Studios came and went, but your trust—that was the constant. And it’s what made these 14 years unforgettable. 💜

💜 An Honest Update from Me to You 💜

Hey friends,

I’ve been sitting with this post for a while — trying to find the right words to explain where I’ve been and why I’ve been so quiet here on the Lady Luck page.

The truth is... I’ve been on a different kind of journey.
Not behind the camera — but behind the scenes of my own healing.

After years of pouring my heart into Lady Luck Photography Studio, life threw me some heavy curveballs. Grief. Burnout. Health challenges. Mental exhaustion. It all hit harder than I ever expected. And instead of pushing through, I finally gave myself permission to pause.

I’m not currently shooting, and Lady Luck isn’t open for business right now — but that doesn’t mean I’ve disappeared.

Because even though I’m still finding my way back to myself… one thing hasn’t changed:

💜 I’m still here.
💜 I’m still a mental health advocate.
💜 I’m still deeply passionate about helping people feel seen, supported, and less alone in their struggles.

That’s why I created Big Mood Energy — a private, supportive Facebook group for women in Ontario who are navigating mental health, healing, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, burnout, and all the beautifully messy stuff in between. It’s a space for raw honesty, gentle humour, and building real connection.

👉 This isn’t something I’m doing for money, likes, or “influence.”
I’m doing it because I know — deeply — what it feels like to need support and not know where to turn.
And if you’ve ever had that feeling too? You’re exactly who this space is for.

To be honest, I think we need more spaces like this.
So if there’s something you feel passionate about — some part of the human experience that needs to be seen, talked about, or shared — I encourage you to start your own group or space. We heal through community. We grow through connection.

Now — I want to say this clearly and gently:
This group is just for women — not to exclude, but to create safety and focus as it begins. That said, I care deeply about everyone’s mental health, including men’s, and hope to offer something more inclusive down the road. This is just where I’m starting. 💜

So no matter what happens next with Lady Luck — please know that I’m still here, still listening, and still showing up for the things that matter.

Something personal. Something important.

Since my mom and dad passed, I haven’t touched my camera. Photography used to be my way of feeling, connecting, and creating meaning — and for a long time, I haven’t had it in me. But lately, I’ve been revisiting the work I once poured my heart into — not as a return, but as a quiet act of remembering.

The images I’m sharing here weren’t made with AI.
They were made with time. With intention. With lived emotion.
From designing sets to gently directing someone into their power… from shooting with care to hours of editing by hand — this is what it looks like when a human creates something from the ground up.

And it wasn’t just me.
None of what I created over the years would’ve been possible without the makeup artists, hair stylists, wardrobe wizards, and creative collaborators who brought their own magic to every shoot. They are artists in their own right, and they too are being impacted by the rise of AI-generated imagery.
It’s for every photographer, graphic designer, and visual artist who has spent years — even decades — learning their craft, growing their skills, and telling stories with heart and grit.

AI-generated images can be beautiful. Truly.
But when they’re posted without context — without saying they’re AI — it can quietly push aside the very real people still creating with their hands, minds, and souls.

So this is a gentle but powerful ask:
If you’re using AI to make images — please just say so.
That simple act of transparency honors an entire community of artists who still do this the human way.

This isn’t a fight against tech.
It’s a stand for truth. For credit. For craft.
For the kind of art that can’t be replicated — because it comes from somewhere deeper.
