One could say my passion to create art is inherent in my DNA. For me the inherent beauty in pursuing
creativity on a grand scale feeds my very soul. It is the most important element of my being. As a young child, I spent endless hours imagining and creating art in my minds eye. I loved to go into
the forest lay on the thick moss squinting at the scene, creating compositions and abstractions in my

mind. In my mind's eye, I visualize how the image will appear. The process is an intuitive sense, an
ability that comes from a lot of practice. When I was a tween, I attended “Painting in the park” a program run by the Burnaby Art Gallery. My
instructor who was an artist submitted one of my paintings to the Vancouver Art Gallery. My painting
was selected by a jury to be displayed at the Vancouver Art Gallery. At a reception ceremony I
received an award and was honored by the arts community for my painting. This was the first time I
thought I had a talent that was unique, and this acceptance made me feel worthy, giving me validation
to the process of creating. I tried my hand at many crafts and arts throughout my teenage years. After high school I entered
Simon Fraser University exploring the field of Communications (interpersonal and media). My
interests of the fine art world were peaking as I began a relationship with my husband who’s father
was an artist and director of the Burnaby Art Gallery. Jack Hardman became my mentor, encouraging
me to become a visual creator. It was because of Jack I transferred to Langara University’s
photography program. After receiving my photography diploma, I enrolled in Emily Carr University of
Art + Design to pursue fine art photography. I followed my passion to be a fine art photographer for
several years. For monetary reasons I changed course becoming a Commercial Professional
Photographer in 1988. However, I never lost my passion for fine art photography. In 2020 after loosing 80% of my commercial clients because of Covid I re-evaluated my future and
decided to chase my passion and re-enter the world of fine art photography. My retirement aspiration
is to create art which will be a testament to the inherent beauty of the world as I see it while travelling
hither and yon bringing my artistic creations to the all.

"Suspended Kiss" portrays a quiet encounter: a bumblebee suspended just before a cluster of deep fuchsia blossoms. A shallow depth of field melts the background into soft greens, letting the bee’s warm gold and the petals’ saturated tones read with clear, intimate contrast. The macro perspective reveals tiny details—pollen-dusted hairs, translucent wings, and the delicate structure of the flowers—conveying a poised, natural energy. This calm, lively photograph makes a subtle, refined addition to a living room, office, or any space that could use a touch of the garden.
