Ashtyn & Maxwell 🤍

Can I just say what an absolutely perfect day these two had for their wedding at Camp Tamarack?!

The weather was incredible, right down to the beautiful real sunflowers that were specifically picked for their wedding décor. 🌻 It all came together so perfectly.

As you can tell from the smiles, everyone was having an absolute blast — but there were definitely a few tears throughout the day too. And apparently the board was NOT wrong… our groom Maxwell did, in fact, cry the most. 😂🤍

Actually, I think I have a new favourite wedding memory to add to my list.

I was photographing Ashtyn and her dad during their father-daughter dance, which is normally already one of those tear-jerker moments. I happened to look beside me and there was Maxwell and Ashtyn’s sister huddled together, absolutely BAWLING. I couldn’t help but find it hilarious while also thinking it was the sweetest thing ever. 😂

After getting to know these two during their engagement session, I already knew they were incredibly photogenic — but I am OBSESSED with how their wedding formals turned out. They had so much patience with me during an already busy day, giving us the time to create SO many beautiful photographs together.

And can I add one of those little “Grande Prairie really is a small town” moments?

When Ashtyn originally came into my studio to meet with me and book their wedding photography, we had a great meeting. As she was getting ready to leave, she suddenly pointed at one of the biggest prints hanging on my studio wall and said that she was IN IT!

Sure enough, there she was — front and centre in my Composite High School graduating-class photo, during their big grad-cap toss on the football field. 😂

we have a new to be big sister alert!

i cannot wait to meet baby hinch #2.

i remember how small miss A used to be and i cant wait to meet their newest addition.

we had a blast at the river, and mama went along with my crazy fun idea to get fully in the river for at least the finale pose!

also with getting to know regulars you can make a photoshoot like a visit and when its done just sit and throw rocks in the river with little A.

If I could pick the perfect time of year for family photos, it would be right at the end of summer when fall is just beginning. That little in-between season of “do I need a sweater or not?” 😂🍂

I had another amazing year photographing this beautiful family of four, and apparently we weren’t the only ones enjoying the evening! While moving between spots, we were absolutely swarmed with ladybugs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many in one place! After the summer of aphids, I was pretty happy to see these little guys in abundance. 🐞

We had the most perfect golden hour at one of my favourite locations. I always seem to have the worst luck of finding what I call my “secret magical photo trails,” falling completely in love with them… and then the city starts a new project and they disappear. 😂

But this time, they kept the trail AND added a new feature to it. When I first spotted it, I practically brought my van to a screeching halt because my jaw dropped. 😂 I immediately knew I needed to photograph there.

Golden light, the first little hints of fall, a family I get the pleasure of photographing year after year, and about a million tiny ladybug visitors. 🐞🍂🤎 Pretty hard to beat an evening like this.

It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into one of my absolute favourite — and busiest — photography seasons of the year! The leaves are starting to change, those warm golden evenings are here, and my fall calendar is already beginning to fill up. 🤎

Fall in Grande Prairie can be beautiful, but we all know how quickly those gorgeous colours can come and go. 🍁😂 Between busy weekends, unpredictable weather, and our very short window of colourful leaves, dates can disappear FAST!

Wedding Sneak Peek 💍🤍

What an absolutely beautiful wedding day at Camp Tamarack!

Their ceremony was the perfect mix of happy tears, meaningful moments and laughter. Ethan had us all emotional when he first saw his beautiful bride walking down the aisle 🥹🤍… and then Sarah had everyone giggling as she blew the “dust” off her vows before reading them! 😂

One of my favourite little details was their sand ceremony — combining sand from Grande Prairie, the place they now call home, with sand from Newfoundland, bringing a little piece of both places together as they start this next chapter as husband and wife. 🤍 Such a simple but incredibly meaningful way to represent where their story has taken them and the home they’ve built together.

They truly couldn’t have picked better weather for their day. We had beautiful sunshine, and somehow even got a good 15-minute downpour while the sun was STILL shining — because apparently their wedding day needed a little bit of everything! 🌦️

I had such a blast with these two and their crew from beginning to end. Their reception was packed full of events, laughter and so many great moments. I’m usually a sucker for the dances, but those speeches nearly had me tearing up behind my camera. 🥹

And of course, there was no better way to finish off such an amazing day than with one heck of a party! 🍻💃🏼🕺🏻
